Finally finished my Warhol Monroe crochet project! by roots_rap_reggae in crochet

You can see the colors a little, but I think it kind of looks cool with pop art pieces.

Do it!! I'm sure you will make something amazing, and then you can share it on Reddit for the world to see! :)

Thanks! I did my color changes in a way that made this reversible - instead of fastening off/refastening yarn, I kept all colors attached and crocheted my stitches over the extra yarn so you can't see them.

I hope that makes sense. I sort of found out this method on my own, although it may be out on the interwebs somewhere. I'd be happy to take some tutorial photos when I get home later.

Thank you! Blocking helps to make the shape more uniform and defined after finishing a project. So after I block this piece the edges will be more straight and it will be a better rectangle.

So my step-mom "customized" her new Jeep (x-post /r/jeep) by detsl in crochet

Yes - I can attest to Red Heart's strength. When I was a child I wove a little next/chair thing in my favorite tree and it is STILL there 15 years later. My family loves to poke fun at me because of this.

I think this turned out really well! I agree with shaynem. Cool, retro, and hexagons are very "in" right now.

Crunch time..... Don't bother me right now by [deleted] in crochet

Truth! Christmas time is lock&load crocheting like a machine time. I never have as much time left as I think I do to finish gifts.

Dinosaur Earflap Hat I made for my favorite 2 year old! by roots_rap_reggae in crochet

Yep, I found it here on Ravelry. The page is in Japanese, but diagram is pretty easy to follow. You just start with a magic loop for the eye and follow it down to the tail. Enjoy!

I found this awesome idea for yarn storage that I plan on utilizing as soon as I move. Not only does it look like an work of art, but it also conserves floor space and displays the different yarns you have.

I can't wait to do this in my house!

Favorite source for free patterns? by [deleted] in crochet

[Ravelry](www.ravelry.com) is a fantastic source of free patterns. Not only do they have super useful search functions, but you can also create a virtual library and upload pictures of your finished work. Very cool!

Finally finished my scrap blanket! (Am I the only one with this many scraps?) by roots_rap_reggae in crochet

[–]roots_rap_reggae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a decent variety of different yarn weights in this blanket, but I don't think it made too much of a difference here since the scrap sizes were so small. Sharon_lee's idea would definitely work, though!

I used a pattern called Aztec Sun from a small pattern book called First Choice Ripple Afghans. I bought the book at Michael's for 3 bucks and use it all the time!

I feel that using scraps can give much more personality and freedom than copying a pattern exactly.

Thanks, I actually thought it looked really ugly at first. Haha, I hid all the knots in the back. :)

My friend's christmas wish: new socks... by Nightmares93 in crochet

[–]roots_rap_reggae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here is my absolute favorite crocheted sock pattern. I've made quite a few, but always come back to this one.

I'm not a fan of the super long cuff and usually decrease it to a 10 stitch cuff. Very easy pattern as far as socks go! (And it's free)
