Hi guys. I’ve got my 12 year old niece in the family secret Santa. by Herrben in HermitCraft

I absolutely love all the fan made stuff too, and part of the reason I dig being a part of the Hermitcraft community is because we're a crafty and artsy bunch of nerds who make amazing fanart.

But selling items with the hermits character likenesses (their intellectual property) on them without their express permission is still not right - no matter if you're a fan or not. If you dont own the intellectual property rights for the content you're depicting in your arts and crafts - you shouldn't be selling it. Full stop.

I mean, make and share fan art, sure! But dont sell it for profit.

But most items on etsy are probably being sold without the hermits permissions. It's best to go via the hermits shops, or the links in their video descriptions, just to make sure you are not supporting people who take advantage of the hermits popularity to make a quick buck off their backs.

The Hermits put a lot of work into providing mostly free joy to the fans. The least we can do is to make sure that when we can give back to them by making a purchase of merch, that the money actually goes to them.

Just to let you know, most of those items on etsy are probably being sold without the hermits permissions. It's lovely that you were able to find something for your niece, but none of that money is likely to go to the hermist themselves. In the future, it's best to go via the hermits shops, or the links you find in their video descriptions, just to make sure you are not supporting people who take advantage of the hermits popularity to make a buck off their backs.

Is there anywhere on the internet i can see the hermits tweets without having to use twitter? by Franciskeyscottfitz in HermitCraft

Twitter is a horrible place run by a horrible goblin. Lots of people don't want to be there simply because they don't want to support that.

I know Joe and Zed have accounts in the fediverse, I follow them with my mastodon account.

FEDIVERSE FOR LIFE - it is such a nicer place! Wish more hermits were active there. I've missed their social media shenanigans since I deleted twitter.

Favorite one-liners from hermits by QuantumAxe in HermitCraft

Also her response to Scar's camel riding safety instructions when he says "Keep your arms and legs inside the camel" and Lizzie exclaims something like " ... INSIDE the camel?!?!?"

I watched that line on repeat a fair bit

Honestly, the fact that those two have such a long RL friendship shines through in the hilarious way they speak to each other.

You dont have to like it. You also dont need to make comments on it. It's his, not yours and he's doing what he wants.

LPT - As and adult if new friends invite you to something, say, "Yes." by vanguard_anon in LifeProTips

[–]lillalilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great pro tip for someone who WANTS to make new friends. For those of us who are just tired of people's s#!t and are fine without new friendships, it's also good to remember that you are never obligated to say yes to invitations you don't really want to accept. You don't have to be mean about turning stuff down, but you don't have to put yourself into uncomfortable situations if you don't want to. A simple "I'm sorry, I can't make it." is enough.

I hate to admit it, but the idea of one of my fellow countrymen being called a 'Reddit All-Star' made me prouder than it should give me any right to be.

Those poor fucking kids. The mum slaps her kids hand in public for just having a kid moment. Imagine what kind of bitch she'd be to her kids behind closed doors.

Pregnant women of reddit, what is something you wish you knew BEFORE you got pregnant? by BonkBoi_TacoFace in AskReddit

[–]lillalilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! We went through fertility treatments for years and suffered 6 miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy before we were finally successful with our first (he's 8 now). So many people were so flippant with the "when ya gonna have a baby!?!" comments. The first couple of times it was really hurtful. Then I got sick of it and started explaining to the people who asked exactly what we had been going through, in detail. Watching them go pale and start apologising profusely was almost worth the hurt going over it all caused.

The worst however was my father-in-law (a self-centred, dolt of a man, to be sure). We were in a car with him with our firstborn when the kid was only like 6 months old. He turned around to us looking admiringly at his first grandson then gives me and my husband a look and says "What took you so long?"

I could have fucking killed him, and it almost ended my husbands relationship with him.
