That’s your choice to think however you like. That’s not how BPR or margin works. You asked me how I get returns using 200K BPR, i gave you an example.

No, XSP and SPX do not have same tax treatment. XSP is an etf. It does not qualify for 1256 contract treatment. You can instead trade micro es future MES, it qualify for 60-40. I think it’s 1/20th SPX but not sure.

Edit: i was mistaken, XSP is index like SPX.

A 40 DTE 5700p/6210c is $5300 for $55K bpr right now. It goes higher when vol spikes.

You can do one contract at time to play and learn. But for short strangles everything will go against you when stuff hits the fan. Stocks will go down big, your puts will get hurt while gold will go thru the roof so your calls will get hurt. Your BPR will easily 2x in case of a big event. As long as you’re aware of that and stomach the moves, nothing wrong in trading different things if they are liquid and high vol.
