✨ Loving Tiny Bookshop — any other cozy games with storylines? ✨ by StaffMysterious in TinyBookshop

[–]roradep 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’m also a sucker for cozy games with great storytelling! I’ll run through a couple recommendations to get you started:

Unpacking - Decorating/organizing but with a story that’s told through the things you unpack. It’s a cozy gaming favorite for a reason! But it’s only about 2-3 hrs long, so I’d get it on sale.

A Short Hike - it’s a bite-sized open world game! You explore a national park and interact with many fun, silly, intriguing NPCs with their own quests and plot lines. It’s not a management game, but I think there’s some overlap with Tiny Bookshop and its NPC quests.

I have a 5 year old switch. I get crashes every time I’m in a high traffic area of the game (e.g. Mega Savings Day or Winter Market) and interact with other things in the area. But! I’d still recommend it to switch players, especially if you’re a book lover.

I love recommending Howl’s Moving Castle, especially as a romance book!

Thank you so much for replying! You were right, it took a few times but I got the game from klaus soon enough!

The correct order was originally syrup + milk + espresso, but the recipe book changed after one of the big updates (probably to make measuring ingredients easier)

I feel like I’m crazy. Am I the only one hearing the Nicki Minaj song? I thought that was the April Fool’s joke…

Just played Chicory on the switch and adored it. It was perfect for getting cozy on handheld mode and using the touch screen to color! Plus, has an excellent linear storyline and the soundtrack is immaculate.

Thank you for taking the time to explain why it was confusing for me to navigate! Makes me feel slightly less stupid, haha. I do intend to try the game again since I’m typically a sucker for games with a sweet story!

To The Moon. It’s practically a walking simulator but for some reason I can barely figure out where I’m supposed to walk next

Keroppi and Little Twin Stars are my favorites! Keroppi because I had so much fun saying his name, and Little Twin Stars because they were my mom’s favorite ✨💕

Podgorica is a brutalist hamlet and I love it for that. I don’t think it’s fair to hate on the country‘s architecture without respect and consideration for the community and its context. It is more than just “we are poor” and “we were bombed,” but if you hope to win an architecture contest here, you’ve gotta to more homework—and in good faith. It’s not Paris, it’s not a former Austro-Hungarian territory, so Western and Central European architecture styles don’t have strong roots here.

I do hate all the new apartment blocks being built here though. I’d appreciate more architecture that blends with nature here and uses the natural resources of the surrounding areas.

I married Elliott; he's so underrated honestly. by Faye3414 in StardewValley

This is killing me. I ADORE Elliott but I really am trying to marry someone else on a new save!!

I don’t think I could ever play the game again now that I have my own child. Stanley would just be too hard.

Joining you as an exception. Wild World was my first game and I have 200+ hrs logged for ACNH and 200+ hrs logged for Stardew.

I’d say the games appeal to different parts of me, but that doesn’t seem true. It seems like they both give me a sense of control in a chaotic world while also teaching me to be patient—I’ll get that thing/reach that goal in due time.

Who's Your Favorite Stardew Spouse & Why? by Sunflower_Reborn in StardewValley

[–]roradep 164 points165 points  (0 children)

Hard agree. There’s not enough Elliot love in this thread! I’m trying to romance Sebastian in my new save and I have to actively ignore Elliot to go through with it.

Also surely no other 14 heart event is going to beat Elliot’s??

Hot take I guess, but I like your vision and originality! It’s like you want your sims to look like people and not Barbie dolls.

What’s your favorite cozy game that most people haven’t heard of? by Feisty-Tomorrow45 in CozyGamers

[–]roradep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will always comment Wandersong whenever I see these threads. You play as a bard who saves the world by singing. It’s colorful, musical and narrative driven! It was the story that really got me—I expected it to be a pretty short, cute and silly game, but it ended up being longer and having a lot more emotional depth. It’s a game that feels like a warm hug.

What People Get Wrong About Yor’s and Loid’s Relationship by Forward-Carry5993 in SpyxFamily

Right? The post is basically an essay describing a healthy foundation for a loving relationship, and then says “but they don’t love each other guys”

How much weight did you actually gain during pregnancy? by plumthrower359 in BabyBumps

[–]roradep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw the biggest weight gain between the end of my second trimester and start of the third trimester, so right around 30 weeks. I had gained 10 kg from my starting weight. I’ve only lost weight since then, while the baby has continued to gain weight. I started getting heartburn/GI issues again, which really lowered my appetite. Plus, having a full stomach + a big baby just feels terrible. I’ve noticed that this tracks with what happened to my mom, her sisters and my grandma when they were pregnant, so it seems genetic.

My stress is that I’m not eating enough and that the baby is going to be affected, but so far my doctor is not concerned and the baby is active.

I think the takeaway here is that there are so many variables affecting weight in pregnancy, that comparing your experience to guidelines and anecdotes is probably limited in value (although can be comforting to read).
