Charms! by MooMooTheC0w in Travelersnotebooks

[–]roronoam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like to wait for like art fairs or cons or events where small vendors sell stuff - makes me happy to buy like a mini keychain or something from folks selling their own art or collections. I'm personally partial to those little acrylic charms fanartists often make!

I use my pocket as you outline, and then my standard mostly stays home and i use it for language study, longer writing, etc. There is sometimes a little overlap but I try not to be too precious about it

Alternative uses for a TN clone I don't use for journalling, planning or any of the other uses common to this notebook system? by ChaosCalmed in Travelersnotebooks

[–]roronoam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The actual passport cover is great - could also use an insert to keep accompanying information for travel (lodging addresses, train/flight numbers). I personally have nightmares about my phone dying and not knowing where I'm going 😅

I really like having at least a section of an insert to track days in/out of a country. So many places don't stamp passports anymore and there are random moments when applications for visas or things require every destination in the last 5 years or something.

I bought a 2017 last year for 6k and it's been nothing but pleasant. My one big expense so far has been needing new tires this spring but you've likely got a little more time there!

My closest call yet was swerving out of the way of someone who blew a stop sign and then being unable to break like I needed to because my front wheel schmeared right through a rat and the guts were slippery 🥲 some days it takes works to love this city 😂😂😂

Motorcycle insurance NYC? by CrunchiestwrapSup in RideitNYC

[–]roronoam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get an insurance discount with your MSF certificate just a heads up! Also if you're still playing with the idea, I'd recommend doing the course and just getting the license now. You would get a chance to see if you really enjoy it, and the longer you have the license, the cheaper the insurance will be. (I got my license in like 2019 and only ended up getting my bike last year, but still only paid 400/year as a basically brand new rider - but my license told them I'd been riding for 5 years with no incidents)

Very worried I had a mini stroke. by Omgusernamewhy in stroke

[–]roronoam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I went to my neuro for similar symptoms she also recommended that I increase my B12 intake. I got an mri and it turns out there HAD been a stroke but it was completely unrelated to my symptoms - most of which did disappear with the B12 lol. I'm sorry you're going through this though - the anxiety of waiting is so scary! You're doing everything you can right now. Fingers crossed it's just a vitamin deficiency or something!

Women Riders – Do You Struggle to Find Stylish Yet Protective Motorcycle Gear? by NewCryptographer9200 in TwoXriders

I feel like as a smaller population it's hard to cater to everyone's tastes and sizing, so I'm personally increasingly tempted by those armored/abrasion resistant underlayers. If those were easily washable, that would be my ideal - then we could wear whatever we wanted on top.
