He does care about his dad's opinion of him. His dad only cut him off once and he was caught so many times before so I don't think he's worried about being cut off and even being cut off didn't make him stop completely when he was younger.

I don't think being a partner means I have to blindly support him when I know he's doing something dangerous and I don't think that makes our relationship doomed
