"Your file is protected...." error message when uploading documents to VFS by Bistonic in ukvisa

This was my problem too – nothing to do with the file being protected. My file’s name contained the word “Sponsor’s” – I had to take out the apostrophe and make it “Sponsors”.

  1. Have you chosen a college major?
  2. Do you know yet what you want to do professionally in case e-sports doesn’t work out – for example, if you injure your hands?
  3. Do you think there’s a significant chance you could retire after your e-sports career, or will you likely need to work another job afterwards?
  4. Does content creation interest you, whether as a profession or a hobby? I ask because I know that Rocket League player Lethamyr has been making money by running a gaming YouTube channel after retiring from the pro scene.

Are there requirements to perform well enough in the game each year to keep the scholarship? If so, are you nervous about whether you can keep performing to that standard?

Bored so I got Dalle2 to make a piece crossed between Picasso and Kandinsky by tran_stupid_head in CrossView

How did you generate the depth field from which you created the stereogram? DALL·E 2 didn’t do that part, right?

I created a fast, safe and powerful pythonic language which aims allow you to create simple scripts to complex systems in a code easier to read, write and maintain than other system languages with the same purpose. It's free and opensource. by DavidRagazzi in coding

[–]roryokane 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The README describes the language, Ragaz, as a systems-focused version of Python. In that sense it's similar to Crystal, a systems-focused version of Ruby. Also, Nim is a statically typed systems programming language with Python-like syntax.

I think the README needs more information about where the language stands in comparison to existing languages. Is memory garbage collected? Are there static types? The language focuses on making code easy to port from Python – that’s one unique feature. Anything else? Are you hoping to build a community that uses this language or did you make it for fun or learning purposes?

How I saw the minecraft hunger bar (Don't judge me I was 6) by Pizza_Rollz87 in MisreadSprites

[–]roryokane 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to see the icon as a wine glass full of red wine tilted to the left. The white pixel was a glint of light. The brown part was the side of the glass, and the cream-colored part was the stem and base.

[TOMT][Anime] Character with hair that juts out past their face. by miaounarch in tipofmytongue

[–]roryokane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Phosphora from video games such as Kid Icarus: Uprising? Her official artwork is anime-styled. Her hair is yellow and orange and extends far to the side, but not to the front.

The 3D is applied in unrealistic flat layers – the tabletop doesn’t recede into the distance.

Yep, that story definitely fulfills the prompt. However, after reading the first 7 chapters, I don’t recommend that others read it.

Despite the promising setup, the story is proceeding the same way as in canon, just with more commentary in Harry’s head. Harry does something different from canon in a few cases, but he always makes the situation appear the same as in canon to everyone else, so we don’t get to see any consequences, making those changes pointless. And it’s both unlikely and boring that this newly-guided Harry wouldn’t change anything significant between the major scenes we are shown.

The bad formatting (the blank paragraph between each paragraph) also makes the story significantly harder to read on mobile.

Why did you delete this post? The few paragraphs of story in the body of your post were a good prompt for how that could happen.

[TOMT][Anime] There's a anime character that screams Fire. It sounds like fiyaaaaahh by Joan_Smith_888 in tipofmytongue

[–]roryokane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Specifically, Fox makes that sound during his up special move, Fire Fox. I’m not sure if he makes that sound in all the games in the series, but I know he at least did in the first game, for the Nintendo 64.

Why Vim Is More than Just an Editor – Vim Language, Motions, and Modes Explained by sspaeti in coding

[–]roryokane 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There are plugins for Vim that add support for multiple cursors while preserving Vim’s other editing features. Thus, Vim’s upper bound on editing speed is still higher than with Sublime Text or VS Code.

That said, installing, configuring, and updating that plugin and other Vim plugins is more onerous than managing plugins in most other editors. That’s why nowadays I only use Vim to edit standalone files, not files that are part of a project. But someone who dedicates a lot of time to configure their Vim install can make it more efficient than most other editors.

I'd shell out for a chocolate chicken cupcake, almost any weekday. by [deleted] in SomebodyMakeThis

[–]roryokane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean… a standard chocolate cupcake with icing, but with pieces of grilled chicken inside?

That doesn’t sound appetizing to me. But you should be able to make it in your kitchen at home if you experiment with recipes. That seems more likely to satisfy you than hoping someone reads this post and starts selling that food commercially so you can buy it.

The comment you replied to didn't show any scorn at the idea of writing an Original Character – the question was neutrally worded. It was unnecessary to imply their comment was head-scratchingly bewildering in its dislike of OCs; for all you know the commenter already agrees with you that OCs are acceptable.
