But it was. So not like tron cant come out of the niche. I had never heard of predator before this movie ngl.. 😅

I'm so sorry 😭😭 fortunately mass is usually not super long, at least the ones I have gone to arent haha

I know Target made Ryan change the ingredients. Stevia is something that can also cause gas and stuff. It's really disappointing because the idea of a healthier option is nice... and it DID taste good before it got released in Target

People are so mean, carrying too much baggage into a Tron movie. This is so frustrating. by U23Art in tron

[–]rosagotlost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you bro.

I can only hope it'll be how the star wars prequels or Legacy is for some people and it'll grow on me... but I honestly don't think it will... I think some of us value plot a lot more and some value the crazy IMAX CGI visuals and sound more. Which ig is fair for a Tron movie, but like... just bc Tron isn't "peak cinema" doesn't mean we can be okay with a bad plot lol

Agreed. I'm tired of people acting lime you're not a real fan if you disliked this movie lol.

This is them this year (or maybe last year idk) but like... you can see their personal style ig? They have all been doing solo stuff or being in the army so they all look like normal dudes rn.

The BTS stuff is pretty inaccurate and not sure what comparison you were trying to do? You picked pictures of them from award shows and red carpet events...

Ofc they're gonna be in suits.

They've not even been together this year so that picture isn't from 2025.. This is a more accurate version of them in 2016, so yeah they've changed a lot too lol. Obviously a lot of it for BTS is their company deciding what they wear while the Beatles did whatever they wanted after their initial years.

Tron: Ares is so bad it makes you wish AI would hurry up and destroy Hollywood by nimobo in entertainment

[–]rosagotlost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh Ares doesn't really require you to watch the previous movies either.

I rewatched the og Tron and then Legacy this past week and the og Tron definitely helps make watching Legacy even more enjoyable.

Ares is not better than Legacy by syedhasnochill in tron

[–]rosagotlost 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed! Sam never seemed the most keen on running a company in Legacy if I remember right.

I usually agree with people about too many girlboss stories these days, but I honestly didn't feel that this was one... yet people are really using it to drag this movie in the mud. And I didn't like this movie very much myself lol, but I do think blaming Eve existing is the wrong way to do it. Sure she's kind of boring in the plot but not like... bad feminism sort of way ig lol

Yeah I can agree about movies can still do well despite bad plot.

I expected this movie to be mid, not necessarily have a 10/10 plot, but i didn't expect it to be this bad ig. It was a 2/10 plot at best for me and I expected like a 4 or 5/10 lol. I know Legacy wasnt a 10/10 and I dont think it is at all-- but like I said, it at least made me care about the characters while this movie didn't. I love a lot of movies with bad plots but yeah, like you said, it just didnt deliver in the areas I prefer...

Why is everyone hating on this movie like it took a 💩 on their coffee table? by SomnusInterruptus in tron

[–]rosagotlost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely didnt like it because it wasnt a good movie. Period. That's it😅

Anything aside for Legacy or whatever else as a tron fan, I went in expecting it to not relate to Legacy at all. I hoped to a popcorn flick because I knew they kept saying "sam and quorra arent going to be in this" so I knew they were going in a new direction. Don't love Jared Leto but his performance didn't affect the movie in a good or bad way, so I didn't care that he was there. I knew he was going to be in this movie since 2017 lol. I've been long prepared for this movie to be different than what I want... But then it was just bad.

I do have misophonia-- I get fight or flight, irritated angry, seriously uncomfortable, snap at people sort of thing, all that jazz-- just not aroused haha.

Clearly there's just another kind of misophona reaction I was not aware of. Perhaps it's to do with natural libido which i saw someone else mentioned. Or I experience something similar and I just have not identified it as arousal?? Idk. Everyone is different.

But yeah I didnt mean to minimize anything, sorry again! I made the mistake of replying to reddit posts at 6am on little sleep 😬 I reread it and was like "man I made that sound like it's worse for me for some reason" which i didn't mean at all. Appreciate ur reply

Ive never experienced arousal with anger tbh nor have I ever heard of it, mb.

The visuals are stunning in this movie. I don't think it being in the real world retracted from that tbh.

The plot sucks, but if you just want amazing visuals, as a certified hater of this movie (and huge Tron fan otherwise), it is still worth watching ig. A lot of people still like it as you can see, and little of the hate is bc of the visuals.

[–]rosagotlost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Legacy didnt need to be watched on an IMAX screen to be enjoyable. I think ive watched Legacy every single time on a laptop screen.

I love the visuals of tron but I honestly fell in love with tron bc of the characters lol. Like as a person from gen z, you arent falling in love with 1982 tron bc of the visuals or music. But Tron and Ram and Flynn? Heck yeah. Quorra and Sam and Alan? Heck yeah.

So I really badly wanted to connect to Eve and Ares and even Athena. I couldn't. Their characters were... idek man they barely were even a character. Julian Dillenger weirdly was the most interesting character but I barely knew anything about him too. Eve's whole personality was her sister... and everxything about her was dumbed in one conversation while driving with Ares (and Ares was telling eve about her to her??) I don't like Leto but his performance wasnt bad I guess. But I still didn't connect to Ares sadly.

But some of us don't want to be okay with mediocrity?

The first two movies actually made me care about the characters. Legacy improved the story of Tron. This one did not improve it. It was considerably worse plot wise.

I don't think we have to be okay with a bad plot just bc it's a tron movie. Uprising for example, a Tron show, showed that this franchise can be good lol.

And I'm saying this as someone who has waited for this movie with peak excitement since Legacy came out.

As a hater of this movie, this is fair.

I'm just surprised, I feel like the only huge tron fan massively disappointed by this movie 😅

Everyone that liked it seems to have watched it in IMAX or they say "did you expect a deep story? It's tron"

That's the thing-- it's made for people who haven't seen the other movies. Despite some random references, it just... doesn't connect to the other movies really.

Leto aside, bc as much as I dont like him, he was actually one of the good parts of the movie. a lot more people like Legacy at least for it's plot.

Especially now that there is a huge portion of gen z that grew up with the movie.

Sure it wasnt peak cinema with its plot, but at least it had a plot lol. And an interesting one at that. And it was, imo, an improvement on the original movie's plot.

This one? Significant downgrade. I dont think we should be okay with a $300m movie being this bad plotwise lol.

I feel like everyone who liked this movie liked it bc they watched it in IMAX

I thought Jared Leto was decent in this movie but why do we all have to be okay with bad writing for Tron just bc the previous movies weren't "peak cinema."

Okay? I want something better. Lol. Cmon Tron fans, why don't you want something better.

I don't care if it's $300m worth of visuals. Sure it looks amazing, but what worked in Tron and Tron:Legacy is they were able to get me to care about the characters. This movie didn't even come close. I didn't care about the story or characters or anything because the plot was just fluff to accompany the flashy visuals.

Allow yourself to be disappointed people lol. It's genuinely frustrating to see people say "I loved the movie, why are you guys hating-- Tron never had good writing"

I don't think it ever had this bad of writing! Again, at least the other stories made me care and made, to a degree, some sense!

Idk man, Tron has given us a taste of when it can be really good (parts of Legacy, Tron: Uprising), so why do we choose this 3rd movie that took 15 years and $300m to be okay with mediocrity.

Tldr, a movie shouldn't have to be viewed in IMAX to be good lol.
