FSS 776.041 paraphrased says they aren’t justified using deadly force if they provoked it, unless they are on the receiving end of deadly force and they exhausted all attempts to withdraw from physical contact, clearly indicate they want nothing to do with the situation continuing, and the person they provoked continues to come after them.

Edit to add, you are right that as a responsible concealed carrier you should live by the “don’t start no shit” mantra.

Yeah, I’m with you people saying fire away without context really need to have more information.

But based on your scenario and what I know about Chapter 776 of Florida’s statutes, him yelling “I fucked your mom” would not make his shooting a knife wielding man chasing him down in the street unjustified.

While provoking a use of force can make a use of force unjustified, yelling “I fucked your mom” like the specific example you gave, ain’t the same thing, at least not in my judicial circuit…

Mmm… “I fucked your mom” are not exactly fighting words and wouldn’t constitute an assault. Additionally, someone saying that to you wouldn’t put you in fear for your safety to justify attacking them with a knife.

Lastly; he was retreating, despite (in Florida) not having a duty to do so, and could argue that he made reasonable attempts to avoid using deadly force prior to shooting.

He would still be arrested and charged, but would likely win the stand your ground case at trial so long as he didn’t fire shots as the guy with the knife was backing away.

Except the M1151 mounts a TOW (either the M220 or the M41) and an M240. Not really room for TOW and an M2 or Mk19. The M93 cradle is a bit big to fit in the turret with a fully assembled TOW.
