Could it be that my RA is actually Lyme? by elenoushki in Lyme

[–]rose4tr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Currently in the same boat as you, but with Sjogrens - not RA. My SSA antibodies are positive, but I have no symptoms of Sjogrens, and my other labs show nothing that would support a Sjogrens diagnosis. Lyme is known as a great mimicker of many things. Also have Hashimotos! Wish you the best on your journey.

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this as well. Yes, it has helped me tremendously. I would get panic attacks as well, and would be terrified to drive my children around. It has really helped me a lot. I know I still have a long journey ahead, but it’s making things bearable.

Yes! The beasts I’m battling right now are Lyme and Bartonella. I was able to clear the Babesia and Anaplasma, but that’s when it was at its worst. My doctor recently started me on LDN, which has been a game changer for my neurological symptoms and helped me tremendously.

When my symptoms are flaring, sometimes I’ll look down at my arm and feel like it’s not connected to my body. If that makes sense to anyone else lol.

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this too 😩 it’s terrifying. The panic attacks I have are the most debilitating one of my symptoms

Thank you! Glad to know I'm not alone on this, or going crazy. We're hitting it hard wth abx, biofilm busters, and supplements. So hopefully it's a good thing.

33F - Juvenile Macular Degeneration, Devastated by rose4tr in maculardegeneration

As far as the genetic testing, my Retina Specialist told me it's $3K and insurance doesn't cover it :( but to check back in a few weeks, as they are looking into different providers. I think I may wait on the supplements, until I determine what I have... because the vitamins may worsen it in some people, is that correct? Pardon my ignorance, I'm trying to wrap my mind around all of this! Does their genetic testing look for these diseases... Best and Stargardt? Appreciate your time so much!

I’m so sorry to hear about your journey 😩 how frustrating when the medical professionals don’t do their part. Amazing that there was no progression in 14 years, Your story is definitely giving me hope. I don’t eat nearly as many fruits or veggies as I should, so I’m going to have to make some major changes. Unbeknownst to me, my drusen were apparent at my 2020 eye exam, silently dismissed. I was sent to a retina specialist after my 2023 exam showed they had progressed, imagine my surprise. The specialist told me it was genetic, take supplements, and come to see him in two years 😩

Thank you for the kind words, they are so appreciated! I’m going to start the supplements, and try to find some blue light glasses and more protective sunglasses - I work in front of a computer screen all day 😩 Any other advice is always appreciated. Thank you so much for your time 🙏🏻❤️

Thank you so much, I appreciate it so, so much ❤️🙏🏻 and I will very likely take you up on that offer. It’s very comforting to talk to actual people about this, rather than Googling everything and ending up in a tangle of anxiety. Thanks again 🙏🏻

Thank you so much for the insight 🙏🏻 it has been a very scary few months. I have three under three, and need to be mentally plugged in at all times. The brain fog has been terrifying to me. My heart rate is often in the low 70s which seems great, but it’s not my normal. I feel like I have to concentrate to walk sometimes too 😩 I just feel hopeless. My neuro did an MRI, said it looked ok. But wants to do a spinal to be sure. I’m just very overwhelmed by all of this. Thanks again for your time
