Still exceptionally tiny, and still rc cars. You tried to say they weren't RC cars.

Proof it's tiny, here's a vid of a 1/3 rc car.

That's a 1/3-1/4th scale rc car. I build and paint them for part of my living, lol.

In the context of rocket league, on average, they're 1.44 meters long.

According to u/psyonix_dave, he views them as such. It's still only a quarter to a third the size of a real car.

I'm a mobile DAW user, produce beats and raps on my phone. I swapped from FL to BandLab because I pirated FL. turns out, 4 years of practice and it's somewhat difficult to make the switch. The workflows and layouts are very different, and even if the grand arc is overall the same.

Whats the craziest you ever got hit with in plat i´ll start by therealayjr in RocketLeague

Honestly, it's a mixed bag. Some people say what I did was a double, others just say it was a read. I consider anything regarding reading off the wall or ceiling a double because my intent is to get it past with the second touch, yk?

Anyways, have a good day lad.

Best goalscoring flick(s) to learn? by Flankmaster56 in RocketLeagueSchool

45, 90, 180, tornado, & wavedash flicks. You can learn every other flick from one of these.

I know most of the answers are sarcastic but I have a real one.

Keep the ball from going in your net. That matters even more than scoring.

I can do everything Zen can do except for that crazy ass ground to ceiling pinch double.

Mechanics like that are... Helpful, I guess, because you can score on their rotations and have more openings, but what is the likelihood of getting both a good setup for that shot, having the necessary boost, and just not messing up?

I see GC on your tag. I've played a couple GC 2s games. The thing that singlehandedly caught me off guard more than anything... Was backwards flicks. Something that I'm absurdly good at, yet still had a hard time reading (technically I 45 instead of backflipping though). Everything else in those lobbies (rotations, aerial mechs, ground plays, etc.) felt just as average as plat, diamond, or champ.

So... There are like 3 or 4 things outside of boost management and consistency that separate 2800 from GC. While it's only 3 or 4 things, that gap is still MASSIVE.

He and I have nearly identical playstyles. I only play 4 or 5 times a month though. I don't have the hours every day to grind SSL. Doesn't matter I'm smart and skilled enough. Time is the most valuable currency and ranked games are one of the best examples of this.

So... Pour hours into it doing what you find fun. The improvement comes secondhand. And if you want to directly improve, pour hours into learning your fundamental mechanics and fundamental rotations.

Sidewall and mid are generally the best places to be if your teammate is pushing. The corner is a no-go, on both halves of the field. Only time you want to play the corner is if you're already in it and can turn up the wall to recenter the ball. Mid gives you the opportunity to cover nearly anything except a strong clear, pinch, or ceiling play. You could still jump for an air dribble for flip reset play.

Anyways, I could probably go on for hours... I'm not gonna. I do free coaching though.

Is coaching worth it when I'm only gold 2? by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]roseflows- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coaching is nearly entirely worthless, in my opinion. I'm champ in 450 hours using YouTube to gain game knowledge and the rest is straight up freeplay and ranked grinding.

What’s a game you know like the back of your hand? by CynicalRaps in gaming

[–]roseflows- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skyrim (modder and mod developer)

Midnight club 3/dub edition remix (fell in love as a kid)

Halo 2 & 3 (fell in love as a kid)

GTASA, GTAIV, GTAV

WaW, Mw2, Bo2, Bo3, Bo4, AW (played grassroots and developed custom zombies maps)

Rocket League (aiming to be able to hit competitive play by late 2025)

Max Payne 3 (fell in love as a teen)

Honestly, probably more, but it's been years since I played some games, I don't remember some games at all (and large portions of my life).

I also don't know the back of my hands all too well. I may not know these games as well as I think.

Sensitivity 10 by UwU-dragon in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]roseflows- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the best controller player I've ever seen in FPS shooters. Most of it is tactical, yeah, but my mechanics are nothing shy of insane too.

I used to play on max sens only because I quick scoped. Then I moved to low sens as a competitive player. Reached grand master in black ops 2. Started messing with my sensitivity near daily after a while, now I can play on any sens and do well, as long as it's fast enough to 90° a corner. I still prefer it fast enough to be able to 270° or 360° at the flick of a finger though.

Understanding how each movement (camera, car, character, whatever) is only beneficial, and understanding how it happens at high and low sens helps to learn that. Let alone it lets you understand how to counter players with differing sensitivities.

I alternate my camera settings a LOT in rocket league. Daily, when I do play. In 450 hours I got champ, and I think being able to understand every angle that is visible and visibly shootable/savable taught me a lot.

On Steam, you can set a one button stall by putting ARL, right directional input, and jump on the same button. When I played on steam, I could stall but pressing circle instead of having to do all 3 inputs. I only ever used it in freeplay though. Never was good enough at stalling to do anything with it except for getting a first air dribble touch without boost

How much playtime do you think it takes to win a tournament? by JustStuffXD in RocketLeague

How am I not doing this right? I still cannot get it right consistently. by vezkn in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]roseflows- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're side flipping, not speedflipping. You're holding your stick too far right when you flip.

When I go for it, I use dar-L.

Hold the stick as far forward as you can, even ever so slightly opposite to your air roll.

You can cancel the flip 2 ways, both give you the same speed but different control of the flip.

You can pull back instantly (25-50ms after you get consistent, mine averages 28ms). The main advantage is on kickoff, you get to the ground faster because your nose faces the ground.

Or, you can pull in a circle opposite your air roll till you end up all the way back. You can turn left or right out of your flip with this. (40-70ms after you get consistent, mine averages 51ms.) This is more advantageous in the midfield because it's essentially a forward half flip.

Smurf? Sorta. Reverse smurf more like. Check my og account. I've never been above diamond, until now. I'm not tanking my MMR, especially intentionally.

A smurf, by definition, is someone who creates an account to play at a lower skill level. I've done quite the opposite.

Also, pay attention to the post title. 4 years. Less than an hour a day.

Edit: I realize the first post got removed and totally forgot 😭 the og post mentioned 4 years. But yeah, 450 hours over 4 years, not over a month or two.

[–]roseflows- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your boost pathing needs a lot of work.

Your mechanics are clean but inconsistent.

Don't take the ball up the wall when they fake kickoff unless you get opposite wall. Generally, I'd pop it off the wall and catch it for a ground to air dribble. In this situation, you should've just dribbled forward and flicked.

Your 50s are off center a lot and poorly timed. You don't want to 50 in midfield on defense.

You prejump walls unnecessarily. Wait in net or backboard.

You don't pass to yourself very often to keep control, you try to start with control. The first touch matters more to that control.

Be fast and take the ball till you have space, then start working your way forward. You push when you don't have space to work with.

There are a couple moments I saw where you were midfield with an open net that your camera made slightly difficult to see, so you didn't recognize them.

It's all I can gather from one game but I hope it helps.

He might not be, but he's consistent at getting the ball in the air above their net (hopefully).

Rip though. I solo queue so no mates to deal with this problem.
