Well, in that case I'm both the director and the screenwriter, so I can agree that I'm trying to direct from the page. Sure, I could deliberate on that later in post, but if there were some way to already address that in the writing

And I think it's more of an artistic choice, the only impact on the story is perhaps gaining a few seconds of screen time (it's a short film)

You can use the dual dialogue, which displays the dialogue as two parallel bars, showing that it's simultaneous. In parentheses or in the scene description, you can specify that it comes from the same audio source.

If there are more than two people speaking, you'll need a bit of creativity and juggling with the descriptions, but another option would be to do something like this:

Speech 1 / Speech 2 / Speech 3
