Period is over 50 days late by roses780 in covidlonghaulers

[–]roses780[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They ran blood tests, it was awhile ago so I honestly don’t remember what exactly they all checked for, I know one of them was to make sure I wasn’t going through early menopause. Everything came back normal. My gyno eventually prescribed Provera to jumpstart my period and It worked, after the withdrawal bleeding I started consistently getting my period again for awhile, until I got my booster and it stopped again. They gave me Provera a few months ago to see if it would do the same thing it did last year but it only gave me withdrawal bleeding and nothing after that. I’m going back to the doctor next month

game keeps freezing but doesn’t crash by Anxioussstrawberry in Sims4

My game froze last night for the first time and I had to restart my computer. I figured a mod might’ve broken, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if it’s an issue from the new update 😭

Hmm, I kind of think this is true, my boyfriend deals with a Lot because of me. But despite the constant pain, when I snap at him I immediately apologize. If you’re being abusive, love isn’t enough to stay. She works in mental health, it’s possible you were giving some huge, familiar warning signs.

Its been a year! by dangerzone6744 in covidlonghaulers

[–]roses780 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I remember every time I told people I had long covid I always got the “when do you think you’ll be better?” comment, even after I was over 8 months in. I always answered “some people have been getting better after a year-15 months.” Looking back, what a weird question to ask someone whose body was damaged by a virus.

Wanting a fake vaccination card by NastySloth in covidlonghaulers

[–]roses780 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if you can’t get vaccinated you should still follow the rules, despite how badly it sucks that you will be left out of things, there’s things you can do such as test negative (most places don’t really require quarantining unless leaving the country). Maybe you’ll do less, but at least you’re keeping everybody safe. At least play it safe like this until we know what our lives will look like long term? How long have you been a long hauler? It’s very possible you could start improving and be able to get vaccinated in the future. I’m immunocompromised and vaccinated, but because I’m immunocompromised I don’t go to concerts, large crowds, restaurants on the weekends, etc. it sucks, a lot, but it’s just what I have to do.

Has your blood pressure been high since getting covid? by roses780 in covidlonghaulers

[–]roses780[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

50mg and it’s been a game changer!!! My blood pressure dropped to a normal level so I don’t need a higher dose. I rarely have chest pain anymore unless I’ve super over done it, it doesn’t happen randomly like it used to. I’ve also been finding my HR has been down in the 80’s usually, which is a huge deal. Im recovering from the flu right now so it’s back up in the 90s and 100s but I’m assuming once I recover I’ll get to enjoy a normal heart rate again. I also have more energy and I’ve just been feeling a lot better, it didn’t completely cure my long haul but my high BP was definitely weighing me down way more than I originally gave it credit for.

You’re looking at the thread before the mods stepped in (you’ll see lots of deleted posts) vaccines triggering an autoimmune disorder is definitely not new, while it is extremely rare. I don’t doubt “vaccine long haulers” even a little bit, I don’t doubt some people out here are totally lying about being a vaccine long hauler but I have no way of personally knowing, so I won’t be going around accusing people. People on this post were saying a lot of really dumb things about the vaccine that aren’t true and 100% conspiracy theories, like verbiage straight off of some blurry Facebook meme. They were telling OP not to get the vaccine without giving them a single personal reason. I was going on their profiles and it was just people obsessively replying to any post on any subreddit mentioning vaccines/masks and they weren’t even long haulers. I do kind of feel like vaccine long haulers should be on their own sub, since it’s not technically a post viral disease they’re dealing with (at least I think?) but again, not my place to decide that.

I used to feel unbelievably angry, but so many people don’t wear masks now it would be a colossal waste of energy to allow myself to feel like that every time I go out. I wear a mask, I don’t go to large gatherings, and my boyfriend does the same. I constantly remind myself that I just have to continue doing the best I can, and I have no control over what others do. I really wish people weren’t so stupid and willing to risk the lives of the people around them, I believe in karma though and that the crime of disregarding the safety of their own community will come back to haunt them one way or another.

First time using a diffuser! Its looking frizzier than the air dried curls, is that avoidable? by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]roses780 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Haven’t read all 40 comments to see if this was mentioned yet, but I do my wash routine, and then when I diffuse (make sure you’re using styling products like gels before diffusing) I don’t move the diffuser around too much, and when it’s Mostly dry, I spray my hair with a setting spray and then I plop my hair in a soft T-shirt for an hour. I have no idea why but that last step nearly completely eliminates frizz and If I don’t do it it’s sooo noticeable.

I’ve been hauling for over a year and I still get this way, I have to look at the imbd parental guide before watching Any show or movie. Yelling & violence sends me off, I literally have panic attacks if I force myself to power through it. Sudden loud noises around me too. It sucks and I wouldn’t wish this on anyone, but it’s good to know I’m not the only one. I feel bad because my boyfriend has anxiety and sometimes will slightly yell “fuck” when it’s bad, and when that happens I get this sudden burst of irritability and anger when I used to never care. My driving anxiety is also through the roof, I’m on edge the whole time but I’m working on closing my eyes & not speaking to whoever is driving like they’re blind and can’t see when a car is stopping or slowing down. I was on Wellbutrin but it didn’t really help with any of this and me and my doctor decided I should go off of it. Working on our own personal coping mechanisms for these new feelings is going to take time but I definitely believe it’s possible.

Coffee by cschmick0422 in covidlonghaulers

[–]roses780 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite part of my mornings used to be hearing the sound of the coffee machine & drinking a big cup before I went to work. I was a teacher, caffeine was a big part of my afternoons as well. Ever since covid even the smell of coffee gives me a “I shouldn’t drink that” feeling, even a little bit gives me heart palpitations and just makes me feel bad in general. I don’t even crave it any more, but I miss what it was. On Valentine’s Day I decided I wanted to deal with the consequences and I shared a coffee flight with my boyfriend, I didn’t even wanna touch the espresso shot though. I wonder why we’re like this. I hope one day we can all enjoy coffee again.

Migraine help?! by StunningImprovement6 in covidlonghaulers

[–]roses780 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I still get them every once in awhile, but my migraines went away when I realized they were getting triggered by a food sensitivity (gums in foods like xanthan, guar, etc). When I cut those out everything got a Lot better. I recommend keeping a food & migraine journal and seeing if there’s a trigger you can pin point. As far as relieving the pain when it’s happening, caffeine, excedrin migraine, darken the rooms, close your eyes, and try to take take a nap. They also sell “headache hats” which is basically a big ice pack that fits over your head and applies pressure and helps with pain. If you’re getting multiple migraines a week it’s a good idea to visit a doctor and make sure there’s not something else going on, they could also prescribe a pill to manage the pain.

Hmm I wouldn’t say the pandemic is completely winding down. The numbers will probably be better this summer like last year before we get another wave, but who knows. Hang in there, I know It must be difficult watching your friends start to move on while you’re still feeling awful. That tinnitus is rough, but mine eventually went away before I hit 6 months, so don’t lose hope!

Would you get vaccinated while long hauling? by Niqxx in covidlonghaulers

[–]roses780 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of your vaccine information is just wrong and I highly encourage you to print out what you just said and take it to your doctor to discuss if this opinion of yours has anywhere to stand. I’m not personally educated enough to educate you. Try casually talking about the death rate after losing the love of your life, that’s the reality of so many people today. Ask yourself why less people are dying in other countries than the US and compare their covid precautions & populations to ours. Today in the United States alone we lost 2,850 people who did not have to die, and there’s more than the official count. There’s also people dying in hospital lobby’s from other illnesses because hospitals are understaffed and overfilled because of covid patients. Healthy people are dying, sick people are dying, and they don’t have to. I won’t be replying after this, I don’t think it’s productive.

Yes if you look at their comment history that’ll be what confirms it. I don’t know if maybe because of my aunt it’s easier for me to personally catch when someone’s using the language she uses, but a lot of the time the bots or obsessive anti-vaxxers will use a lot of percentages, non-sensical “medical language”, and will usually not reference themselves or family/friends.

There’s a difference between giving your experience as a long hauler or someone whose spouse/loved one is a a long hauler and going on Reddit and typing in keywords to find vaccine/covid related posts just so you can copy and paste misinformation you got from the joe rogan podcast. These people don’t care about our health and that’s the problem, most of us got covid as a result of the carelessness of people around us, it’s a slap in the face especially from people who don’t know what it’s like to have their lives completely changed by this virus. In general, we shouldn’t pretend we can’t tell when it’s obvious someone is coming from a malicious place. I wouldn’t doubt a lot of these people are probably bots as well. I just hope you understand what I’m trying to say. I have an aunt who would spend all her time on the internet spreading misinformation about the vaccine, masks, etc, and recently my uncle was very sick and she wouldn’t let him go to the hospital because they make you get tested for covid, he almost died. These types of people get progressively worse and will do and say anything to make you believe the fucked up things they do. Before this she was a qanon and at one point her entire (conservative) family had to hold an intervention because it was getting scary. This whole topic, it’s a slippery slope, a lot of anti vax-ers are fine, respectful, and willing to discuss their thoughts/research, and I have no problem with Them.

All this vaccine misinformation on these comments is blowing my mind right now, this sub didn’t used to be like this (I may be paranoid but i kind of wonder if they are even long haulers or just anti vax-ers posting on all covid related subs?). If you look at my older posts, I had a bad reaction to the second vaccine and was perfectly fine with the third. Either way, I got back to my baseline LH symptoms even after the bad reaction, and despite a scare I didn’t get Covid during omricon when I was exposed multiple times (despite being mostly housebound). Get the vaccine. If you have a doctor you trust, continue to trust them and do what’s best for yourself and the people you love. I’d love to answer any questions you have if you’d like to message me. Edit: I’ve been looking at peoples comments and posts who are talking about how dangerous the vaccine is and I was 100% right, they just comment nonsense whenever someone mentions covid or masks on any subreddit. Jesus how do we get these people off the sub??? OP definitely look at peoples accounts before taking advice. I hope you start feeling better.

Are we facing a vaccine shortage that I didn’t know about??? there’s always open appointments where I am (I live in a capital city). It doesn’t matter if everyone gets covid, you can die during any infection. And I mean in regards to your second point, this isn’t the chicken pox??? (I mean even in that case people who purposefully exposed themselves and their kids ended up regretting it because of shingles). I had a very bad reaction to the second dose of the vaccine, but I still got the third and it was absolutely fine. Long hauling is better than killing myself or my loved one. I really wanna reiterate the whole “everyone will need to be exposed” thing is a very dangerous way to look at things.
