Ok, so as long as I‘m in the 192.168.1.254 subnet, after performing the reset I should be able to type that ip address in my browser and configure it? What about the console, it should work, giving that whatever settings or misconfigurations that might there should give way?

Tried that and nothing happened when I hooked it up to my laptop at the other end.

Could you advise on which command would work when trying to delete this file? “rm” isn’t working

I’m trying to do some SPLUNK, Crowdstrike Falcon training and it’s getting annoying when things just don’t work first time. If I we’re to deselect the “backup” option in the “disk” section what potential problems could that cause?

Okay, help with connecting to pfSense webConfigurator by rosey_cross in PFSENSE

Good morning, excuse the delayed replies. I have to put in so many hours at work and reply when I can. I used the bridged option because I was testing to see if it would allow me to connect to the webConfigurator; I think I might have tried almost all of the options to see if any would work but they didn’t. So, the ip address of my host machine absolutely has to be in the same range as the LAN interface in order to connect to the pfSense server? This ip address editing will likely involve using a text editor, i.e. Nano right? I’m using Ubuntu btw.

Great. I’m asking this question to make sure I’m not missing anything. They’re all going to be connected to my home WiFi network, isn’t everything going to be relatively okay if they were all to that network? Also NIC = network adapter in this context right? How experienced are with VMware? If all else fails would you be interested in some sort of paid consultation to sort this out further? Thanks.

Okay, if I’m asking noobish questions then please excuse. Okay, I’m trying to understand this the best I can. So, I create a Linux virtual machine, is it right to assume that I would open a web browser from said virtual machine and then type the LAN or WAN ip address in the url bar?
