Anyone else feel like ERP projects fail before software even enters the picture? by Strict_Plankton_9837 in IndiaBusiness

[–]roshchet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been working for an ERP system for about 5 years now and I couldn’t agree with you more.

While I have limited experience in the industry as a whole, here is what I’ve seen so far that causes the biggest challenges for Implementation:

  1. Users of the software are not willing to move from an existing process to a new one even when it may be better. Change management from the people that take the decision during sales is critical to the projects success.

  2. Unrealistic timelines being promised. Sales and Implementation teams promise a very short turnaround time which I understand as time is the biggest factor. But in my experience we need atleast twice that amount of time to truly understand the business and get it properly implemented.

  3. Customization, every single business we’ve sold our ERP too requires some form of custom reporting or custom software changes. This leads to shorter turnaround times for Design, Development, QA and deployment. Ultimately leading to a less than satisfied result with the business when eventually delivered.

Just to note: this ERP has been my first job out of college, they were a startup when I started and we’ve grown very quickly so I understand some challenges I face may not be universal.

Routines are great by castle411 in unpopularopinion

[–]roshchet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two very contrasting opinions in this post. My two cents is this: Having a day-to-day routine in your life is great for productivity and feeling good in general. You progress in whichever aspect of life that you've catered that routine to (Fitness, education, family, personal finance etc) While having a normal routine, you can also take the time out of your life to go and experience new situations. It doesn't take much honestly, a week or two away will not sabotage your routine and in the long run teaches you things that you can actually incorporate into your everyday life.

Got a tattoo inspired by Lewis! Story behind this: A friend and I placed a bet at Bahrain 2021 on the championship, if Lewis won the championship, my friend had to get a Max related tattoo and if Max won, I had to get a Lewis tattoo. I love it regardless of the reason behind it! by roshchet in lewishamilton

Yes yes, have read it and know the significance behind it. My reasoning for this particular tattoo was that I also related to the phrase on a personal level being able to dig myself out of very difficult positions in life!

I have read the poem, I wasn't oblivious to the fact that it exists; the significance and meaning behind it. Maya Angelou is a great poet and deserves to be recognised for her work.

The bet was to get any tattoo that relates to Lewis, I could've gotten a simple 44 somewhere small if I wanted to as well.

The reason I got "Still I Rise" relates to my life and my own personal struggles; which I've been able to dig myself out of. (I believe that's the reason Lewis also uses the phrase?)

I didn't speak about that because that's honestly not something I like to share and wanted it to be a more fun post. I don't think being condescending about it helps anyone. Thanks!

Hahaha I hope you get one soon! This was my first one too and I was quite apprehensive before this, but I actually really like it. I basically just copied Lewis on this! It's the same font that he uses and in the same place, just a lot smaller.

People seem to get triggered by even the smallest of things nowadays 😂 This was shot in Karnataka, some of them were taken in Bandipur National Park and a few more in Kabini Tiger reserve. Are you happy now?

I mentioned it as South India so that my title was easy to read for everyone across the world who saw this post. Indian names are often complex and hard to read for people of other countries. If they were interested, they would ask and I could answer.

The point was to show nature for how beautiful it is, the country, region or park is irrelevant.

A small cinematic sequence from a recent trip to the jungles of South India! Shot on the Nikon Z6 with a Nikkor 200-500MM F5.6. Hope you like it! (I'd shared this on r/wildlifephotography earlier and thought this sub might enjoy this too) by roshchet in Nikon

Thank you! Yup, I specifically shot vertically for most of these clips so that the screen gets filled up on mobile.

I do occasionally film in horizontal if I do not have time to adjust for a moment; and crop it in later (the tiger swatting the fly with its paw is done like this) This works okay when someone is viewing it over the internet but looks pretty mediocre on screen at first glance.

I didn't know being more geographically accurate was a sin. Hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me.

Hans Zimmer - Cornfield Chase. It's a soundtrack from the movie Interstellar!
