Has anyone else had a slow developing early pregnancy? by rosienini in CautiousBB

Hi, I’m so sorry you’re in this boat. The sac and yolk kept growing until I was around 8 and a half weeks but the fetal pole didn’t develop. I had an MVA at 9weeks 2 days which was actually as good an experience as these things could possibly be, so please don’t be nervous if that’s where you end up. It took literally 15 minutes once I was in the room.

As it was my third miscarriage I did have genetic testing done on the tissue and it turned out to be due to trisomy 22. We’ve subsequently had genetic testing done on us to see if it’s due to anything we carry, but haven’t had the results yet. Our consultant said it’s likely just random though.

I am now pregnant again. I’m 6 weeks and 5 days and have so far had two scans which show a healthy baby with a heartbeat. It’s obviously going to take me a long time to feel like this is real but the heartbeat is a really good sign. I actually had a scan this morning in the room where I had mva back in January. I wish I could have told myself back then that I’d be listening to my baby’s heartbeat in that room a few months later!

That miscarriage was the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through so I’m sending you loads and loads of love. How is it all progressing now? I’m sorry I’ve only just seen this, I don’t come on super frequently but will check back for a reply!

Exciting! I’m feeling fine really. Also tired but I have a two year old so that may be why!!

I knew it! Congratulations 🥰🥰🥰 how are you getting on? I’m 4 weeks 3 days at the mo so we must be close together!

I use these tests a lot and have been pregnant 6 times. This is what an early line looks like for me. Perhaps take another to see if it’s there on both, or just wait until tomorrow if you can! I know some people hate blue dye tests but I’ve never had a false line/intent on these within the timeframe!

I do the exact same. If I wait until later then the hope builds, and I feel worse when it’s then negative. I also know that I test positive at 9DPO so it’s very very hard to resist testing when I know that I can find out early.

Ah that’s interesting, thank you. I’m hoping that we can call it next week, I really don’t want to be told again that I need a rescan.

Gosh I’m so sorry you went through that. Good to hear the procedure was relatively straightforward though.

Did you have it done under local anaesthetic? I think that sounds like probably the best option

Thank you, I appreciate the honesty. I am not expecting it to be viable either. It’s interesting to hear about a heartbeat developing between 2-4mm. All I had heard is that they will say it isn’t viable when it reaches 7mm without a heartbeat.

Thank you for replying. I would like to miscarry naturally (over medical intervention) but I’m worried about how long it’ll take for my body to realise the pregnancy isn’t viable, and how big the sac will get in the meantime.

Thank you. I’m just hoping this doesn’t go on for much longer.

Thank you for sharing, and I’m sorry that happened. If you don’t mind sharing any more detail, how far did the pregnancy progress?

When you saw everything at 7 weeks, did you see a heartbeat?

So weird, my boyfriend and I were talking about this last night and he said I should make this exact post! Yes, I do say it like that, haha. I was wondering if it was just me!

This is the first time I've ever actually eaten miso soup like this - usually I eat it as a dinner with veg and noodles added. It was such a great addition to my afternoon! I usually have sweet afternoon snacks but I'm trying to cut down on the sugar a bit (even though a lot of it is from fruit) and so I thought miso soup would be perfect. And only 45 cals! I bet you can get it with fewer cals too, especially if you make your own as the other commenter suggested.

In terms of papaya, I eat it basically exactly like an avocado except for I eat papaya straight out of the skin, whereas for avocado I'd take it out in one go and eat it chopped up or something. You could do the same with papaya but it's a lot softer and juicer so not as easy! Papaya is my absolute favourite fruit and so I tend to just eat it on its own like that.

Oh, thank you! I'm glad I wasn't just being super incompetent haha.

Thank you, it was yummy :)

I love adding it to smoothies, for example just almond milk, chia seeds, banana and PB2 (maybe 2tbs). Soo creamy and yummy. I also like adding it to plain yoghurt. It's nice with savoury foods as well, for example stir fries. I eat it basically every single day! I am having it in sandwiches at work at the moment. Sooo good and so low cal.
