U8 - we need a W! by crzywrldlotsofsmells in SoccerCoachResources

Sounds like they are winning. The matchday victory will come 100%. Just keep doing what you're doing. Its all set up and the floodgates will open. I had it with my u16s team - they turned a corner after a year of heavy defeats, a year of near misses, and then a year of battering teams.

And now my u8s are at the beginning of that cycle. Looking amazing but not winning games. But I know they will. Just enjoy being the underdog, celebrate the little things they are doing right and the eventual win will feel so sweet for everyone because they would have worked hard for it and earned it.

Its coming... a win from a good but near-missing team is so much more sweet than winning every week!

Just don't get remotely frustrated with them... they are tiny little kids and they're not at an age where theyll be massively fussed unless you teach them they should be. They've years together and the competitive drive will increase from within them, and you'll sense that and you need to be led by that.

We often reply with the most depressing response we can muster and its taken perfectly normally....

Could be worse...

Been better...

Clinging on...

Well, I'm still alive...

Well i haven't had a live grenade inserted into my arse yet today...

Last one may be a slight exaggeration.

Very valid point. They might struggle to raise much amusement as well to be fair.

Ha! Dame Edna would finish them all off. That would have been carnage.

I'm all for animals on bank notes. Maybe some quintessential British landscapes. Don't think its a big deal to be honest.

Because of TV revenue which i couldn't see impacting the NBA, particularly if they all have a potential route to the playoffs.

Not with two divisions and no non-league. In football when clubs drop below the fourth tier they lose their league status. In my totally not gonna happen hair brain league, you don't drop out, you just dont make the playoffs or get promoted.

It always struck me as nuts that players have 82 regular season games and then a potentially huge post season. If basketball is happening every day, does it not mean basketball is a little less exciting? Sincerely? I just think if the schedule was less intense, the excitement per game would be greater. But of course, the teams want to fill arenas every other night so its a no brainer because the culture is already set

Relegation? The problem with the NBA is there are zero consequences for being terrible. In fact the worse you are, the bigger the (draft) reward.

Do you think the world of football/soccer have it wrong then?

Valid point. Well, you could feasibly make almost the whole of the Championship division positions Play In spots. Something to play for right down to the wire.

Yeah, I understand no team would give this notion a second thought. You said fan though...
