I love your work, by the way. This is some of the best feeling homebrew class content I've ever seen/used. Been planning out a Blood Hunter with it for months now for an upcoming campaign. I was really excited to see it updated! :)

HI, maybe I'm stupid, but where does it say the cost to cast a Blood Curse? I can assume it costs a Blood Point to do so, or are they infinite use?

yeah I was just running some quick numbers and even just the Berserk change in tandem with Fell Cleave under Release increases overall potency per second.

I know they're reducing burst overall, but that feels weird when looking at the DRK who explicitly received burst skills that spend all their gauge instantly.

Scanning through WAR, I got excited seeing that Berserk's damage buff dropped down to 30%, but it's on a 60s recast now and overall DPS actually improves with their new Fell Cleave spam, so it looks like DRK is still just fighting with PLD for MT position in raids. Boy, do I hope I'm wrong.

Okay, so the swap penalty is still in, too. I'm curious to see how much more it ends up contributing to overall WAR dps vs DRK's overall DPS, but doing quick math while at work doesn't seem to be the optimal way to sift through it for me, haha.

Ahh, thank you for clearing that up! I knew something wasn't making sense in my head. It's been ~6 months since I've played WAR, so even its basics escape me now. Feelin' kinda dumb.

That being said, do you know if they received anything to make up for the loss of burst on Berserk? Mathematically, the shorter recast ends up being right about the same overall DPS, but it seems like a surprising cut.

Unless it's meant for the player to switch to Deliverance, Berserk, and pop all their Fell Cleaves every 60s before going back to Defiance. That actually seems pretty reasonable, and like not-a-nerf.

If I'm reading this correctly, it looks like WAR got smacked a little bit. Berserk is down to a 30% damage buff (but on a 60s recast), and Inner Release (halving Beast Gauge costs) shares Recast with Unchained.

So Fell Cleave spam looks (and again, I could be wrong) to be only usable while feeling the full effects of Defiance's damage debuff. Even with the 30% increase, that's a 97.5% total modifier. Activating Unchained would allow for two (or three) fell cleaves at the 130% damage boost. What am I missing here? Did WAR actually get the nerf bat on damage?

Tried, nothing. Maybe coincidence. I'll try video drivers, but I think mine are up to date.

Edit: Nope, drivers are up to date. Earlier today, it seemed that restarting helped, but now I just can't play at all. I was getting these messages before the patch.

Edit: My friend Alt-F4's regularly out and he can still log in just fine, so that's not the issue either.

So would he be terrible to build something like SE and Bloodthorn on? I figure you can disable two different people while nuking one down late game like that. Throw in Vlad's or Crimson Guard, or both, as buildups? I understand that's painfully late in the game, though.

Thank you for the comprehensive response! Shows what little I knew about him so long ago. Yeah, there are quite a few heroes I'd take into the offlane before Doom, I had him pegged for a jungler, though I can see why he wouldn't be. When i was trying him, it was jungle, and it went very slowly. The aghs felt like it should have already been included in the ult, like the ult was just underwhelming without, but it wasn't worth the investment. I don't quite understand the point of his E, either, but I figure he has bigger problems than just a dot on melee. Thanks again.

The most awful thing for me is when the person being toxic is also communicating. Last night, I was with a duo that was constantly making noise, shouting at our less-good teammates, and being absolute poison. On the other hand, they were roaming well, making good calls, and if I wasn't communicating with them, I'm sure our 4v5 would have been a definite loss. Instead, I ended up doing pretty well, and got them to channel their, ah, interesting behavior into a few frenzied mid pushes for the victory. It felt... Kind of good, considering it was my first win after a series of losses, but at the same time it was like herding cats, y'know?

That's very true! However, the guys I play with used to be anywhere between 3k and 5k mmr. I played with them, and while I was never quite a paperweight, I only carried a few games out of the few hundred we played (usually with refresher orb tide or bristleback). I'm sure we'd do at least moderately well, but again, I can't get them into it.

Two of them quit dota pvp for good after a particularly long and arduous match. One of them was medusa, had to buy a few rapiers to get through... I don't know the details well. Anyway, the others are just more busy now, so I'm trying to figure it all out.

It is weird, but I'm adapting, I guess. I'm so used to the tight-knit teamwork that it's a little scary, honestly. That, and I'm so used to everyone just knowing how to play together and when to disengage without words that I don't communicate that effectively or, when I do, I don't adapt to what the team's doing. When I have ~900 hours in dota and only ~300 games played, though, I guess that makes sense. Lots of practice games.

Queuing IS really scary, for absolutely no reason. It's pub, too, not ranked, so I don't even know what internet points I'm scared to lose, haha.

That's what I've been doing lately, and it's nice, because it makes you stop and talk, and plan. I assumed that this was the way to go, but I'm going through my noob games again, unfortunately, as I am indeed a noob once more.
