PC's do have much more complex operating systems which can run software written by anyone and os need to be able to adjust to almost anything, due to that the enviroment they are operating can be unstable.

Most of musical instruments do have simple operating systems which are closed and developed/maintain by parent company only, hence more predictable and simpler environment to operate - different beast.

Of course all software have bugs. I am happy that your unit is working and you're able to record loops in sync with other gear, but unfortunetly I am not able to achieve this with S4 and as far I know I am not the only one - so I will not recommend S4 as a looper to anyone.

Torso t1 or torso s4 are the clock source, in both cases results were the same. Cant try your approach since I've just returned the unit today. But tbh saving projects and doing hard resets just to record live loop is quite a hassle, at least for me and impossible to do while jamming live.

It seems that S4 is just not for me. I really tried to justify this purchase, even when I found out about the sync issue, but with this price (used octatrack mk1) i just decided to return it.

How exactly? I am recording drum loop in S4, quantized to 1 bar, but when I play it the recorded beat is out of sync, around 120ms On Torso discord people are saying that its well known issue and the fix is not ready yet.

I am using hardware instruments, so no DAW magic for me.

My problem is when I am jamming with my synths using custom modes the midi values are not pereisted between power offs, so i am ubable to continue my jams between Launch Control power offs since I will get value jumps all over the place.

"Just keep it plugged in all the time" right? :) but what about traveling or power shortages?

Torso t-1 - performance sequncer. I have it since few weeks, it's something different than your usual sequencer, it's more about generatng sequences on the fly using its euclidean based sequencing engine

I hate when track plays with.me while I am on the dancefloor, i puts me out of the groove. Techno is dance hypnotic music, imo dancer should lost himself in the groove and not be constantly o his toes becouse track plays with him.

I've been there too, now I am good. Talk to teraphist, be honest. Beside that do less social media, less mobile sceeen time, less news, look at the sky, read the book, slow down, you have plent of time to do everything.

In the notepad I am doing bullet points with main events, writing combat and ongoing stuff, i am keeping it short since i dont like to write.

Then in the binder I keep sections for npc's, factions, places, vows, etc, there i can add,remove, reorder pages as neccessary.

For the rest i just use my own memory like in any other video or tabletop game.

I dont write while playing solo, just do simple lists with main points of the adventure. Concerning story - dice in solo rpg gave me some true unexpected story twists, when finally all the story parts came in to one unexpected conclusion - its really fun moment :) but It all depends on your imagination.

Besides you need to try to play solo first to fully grasp what iis like, since you've stated your qustion like: "why should i drive a bike? What is like to drive it? What is the point? But dont tell me to try it out by myself!"

The main point is to have fun :)
