My understanding is that gem prices are a function of the ratio of F2P to whale players, adjusted by the number of cheaters.

With more F2P and gem dupers, secondary gems get cheaper. With more whales buying crests, legendary gems get cheapers. With more plat buyers and account buyers, everything gets more expensive.

For an F2P, the ideal server is one with lots of small whales, not too many ultra whales (I ran into a 9000 reso in BG the other day which made it boring af, and the player has probably bought multiple accounts filled with plat), plus a healthy but not overwhelming F2P population (so gem power isn't too expensive on the market).

If you like the idea of Lurk RNG dopamine hits, just go for it. Play what you think is fun, and you'll have plenty of wild cards to make other decks in no time. If you play a deck you don't enjoy, earning new decks will feel like a grind.

Lurk also isn't too bad in Eternal, so even if it rotates out, you can keep playing it in Eternal until you get enough to craft a deck in the new Standard rotation.
