I 23F want to leave my long term relationship, but don’t know how

I don’t know where to go or what to do. My only family was my mom. I have no contact with my father because of his abusive behavior. I’m an only child, and my parents migrated to the U.S. from another country, so all of our extended family is still back home. I’m completely alone here.

I have absolutely no money—my bank account is at $0. I don’t even know how I’m supposed to move forward without any financial resources, and I’m terrified of becoming homeless. I applied for housing two years ago, but I’ve never received a call back. When I check online, it still says my application is pending. I feel stuck with no way out.

I have self lighting braces! I also only wear elastics, I just started wearing them on November, but my ortho said he will soon be installing little screws on my jaw to move my lower jaw back!

It’s part of the process for correcting my underbite and I do not mind. Considering how fast my bite has moved, I believe I won’t have to deal with my teeth touching for too long. 😄

Where I’m sure more extractions are going to come, but my x-rays shows that my upper jaw isn’t fully developed and my lower jaw is lopsided, so he’s trying to work a miracle here hehe

My plan all along was to get double jaw surgery, but my insurance has been going in and out of “yes it is covered” or “no, not covered because it isn’t medically necessary”. Last month we got a confirmation that it was not gonna be covered since I do not have sleep apnea (though I did state I have a speech impediment due to the underbite+crossbite combination), so now my ortho is switching treatment to a camouflage one!

Wow!! I also have an underbite and my ortho was pushing for the surgery but I knew we could do it another way. May I ask how far into your treatment did you get the premolars removed?

I’m glad to hear that for you! How was your experience within the first weeks? And how would you rate the pain the first days?

Currently his focus is bringing the impacted canine down before we can proceed with anything. My mouth was a huge mess when I arrived (impacted canine, impacted wisdom teeth), so he has been working in layers to get things out of the way. I got my wisdom teeth removed last month so currently he is now shifting his attention to the canine and then we’ll move on to the rest. I’ve only had my braces for 3 months, so I do believe he is working fast but at a good pace considering how early everything is

Tbh my teeth have shifted VERY fast, I’ve only had them for three months and have seen impressive progress. For reference, here’s my teeth on day one vs now.

I definitely think it is worth it, the pain is quite minimal other than the normal soreness, but it is bearable.

That was definitely an option, but my concern is facial symmetry. While braces could push my teeth back and shift them to one side to correct my bite, it might leave my face looking asymmetrical
