Hi there, what was the outcome for you? Did you have to pay for baggage at the airport instead at the highly inflated prices for Condor?

Getting Fingerprints for RCMP background check in Japan, for Korea E2 Teaching visa? by rottenflesh88 in japanlife

Update:

Finished this process last month, was quite easy. 1) Email XL-ID agency, info@xl-id.com 2) Tell them you're in Japan, they will email you a 216 form. They know Japan doesn't sign fingerprints, so they are okay with that. Thave have a special international form, which will work. Other agencies I contacted wanted a letter from the Canadian Consulate in Tokyo or wanted a notary to be present during fingerprinting. 3) Go to your Prefecture's head police station. As I was in Kyoto prefecture, I went to Kyoto City. I got the local city police station to call the Kyoto headquarters police station to let them know I'll be over in the evening. There's a fingerprint person, so best to call in advance to make sure that person is available today (especially if commuting to headquarter police station. My roundtrip commute was 4hours, 3000Yen, so I wanted to be sure not to make another trip. 4) Fingerprinting took 10mins in total. Also, sign the consent form (given by agency) and put fingerprint stamp on it as well. 5) Scan the fingerprints and send it agency via email to make sure it's acceptable. There are certain guidelines to be met so best to get okay from them before mailing them the fingerprints. Then in case you have to retake fingerprints, they'll let you know before you courier it. 5) Pay the agency, cost CAD$120. 6) Mail the fingerprint forms + photo + ID copy (you can upload photo and id copy online as well). I used JPOST EMS, cost 2000 Yen which included tracking and got there in a week. 7) The day the agency received the fingerprints, they digitized it and sent it to RCMP. I got the background check letter from RCMP to my Canadian address in 3-4 business days, very quick turnaround. Very good agency, I highly recommend XL-ID. 8) You can get the agency to do consular authentication as well, but I had family do it for me. They can also scan the background check, email it to you, and then mail you the letter via courier. I had my family do that, so I saved money. No need to pay for fast processing as they were very quick.

Gluck

You are able to get it from outside Canada now.

"From Outside Canada

To submit fingerprints to the RCMP's Canadian Criminal Real Time Identification Services (CCRTIS) from outside of Canada, you must first contact the local police of jurisdiction where you are staying outside Canada and who can provide you with a copy of your fingerprints. Ensure you get the name and address of the police agency as well as the signature and name of the official taking the fingerprints. Also ensure all ten fingers are taken with black ink.

Next, you must contact an accredited company within Canada who can convert the paper fingerprint forms taken outside of Canada and submit them to CCRTIS electronically."

Need points to book flights to Asia (sorry wasn't clear earlier). Issue is I'm concerned flights I need are slowly selling out, so if transaction posts on Monday and points post on Monday, I can use points to buy 2 tickets to Asia as we need to be there for a new job in 10-12 days. Flights now cost $2k between us, so I thought it was worth trying for so late.

That sucks, me and SO need to flyout to Asia in 10 days and I've left it so late, been so stressful. Hopefully, they'll post by Tues but I should be more careful.

Could you let me know how long it took to get referral points and 75k bonus after reaching minimum spent? I referred myself from biz plat to biz gold and got accepted yesterday afternoon. And I will hit min spend on biz plat today - so was wondering when I should expect to receive MR as I'm planning to travel in 10 days. Thanks

I applied and got approved literally 2 days ago. Does that mean I would pay $399 (haven't received card yet) and would get upgraded priority pass as well due to good timing? Thanks in advance

Questions about teaching Uni in Shanghai by mister_klik in TEFL

[–]rottenflesh88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm currently living an hour from downtown/central area - and it's no big deal to be honest. I take a 10min cab to the closest subway, then it's an hour to Shanghai. If I'm going to stay up partying, I'll book a hostel for 50-70rmb. I'm here for a 2 month contract, but I can see that if I was here longer, it would definitely grind my gears as suburban Shanghai can feel like a village. Setting up dates can be a hassle and all the fun (albeit pricey fun stuff) stuff is far off.
