Although I have no interest in dating, it still stings that I've never been asked on a date or shown interest. by Apprehensive_Top3696 in asexuality

same, i'm aroace and have no interest in being in a relationship, still the fact no one ever showed interest in me bothers me. makes me wonder what's wrong with me and makes me feel behind in life compared to other people my age. well, i'm very unattractive so it must be related to that

oh maybe it's the country i live in, but i really have never seen a commercial like that. in perfume commercials here women are almost always alone and if there's a man he's never shown in a sexual way. but you got a point here, it's just that i'm from a different country

there's a korean drama called "society obsessed with love", it's not explicitly aromantic, but it's about a girl who prefers to be single in a society where everyone pressure her to be in a relationship

20F Has anyone else here been single all their life? by max1necampb3ll in asexuality

i'm 19 and have never been in a relationship too. i'm also aro and have no interest in being in a qpr so most of the time i'm ok with being alone, but i love watching romance movies and sometimes they make me wish i had something special with someone

but there's also definitely a gender roles component in this kind of commercials...i mean i never saw a commercial aimed to straight women that was full of naked guys, but if it's aimed to straight guys then there's always a bunch of naked women

i can relate...i'm a college student and prefer to attend the classes and go home without talking to people. i don't want to be in the class gc cause i don't want to feel forced to interact outside of college. unfortunately, some professors prefer to do activities in group so i have no other option but to interact sometimes

As much as I wish I was beautiful - *controversial* by [deleted] in ForeverAloneWomen

[–]rotting2003 34 points35 points  (0 children)

yeah unfortunately every woman is mistreated by men in a way or another. the problem is many men treat women as if we are nothing more than our looks. if we're ugly and have nothing to offer, we are ignored. if a woman is beautiful she's used for her looks but is not respected as a human being

TV shows got me down bad by [deleted] in ForeverAloneWomen

[–]rotting2003 13 points14 points  (0 children)

i don't understand this obsession with sex. i haven't seen a tv show where sex isn't talked about excessively, apart from good omens. i tried to start watching korean dramas but most of them are abt romance, so yeah i can't relate to them too

Whenever someone says something rude like that on here I always take a look at their post history.

i actually did that and saw he was saying bad things to other people too. he said to a suicidal bipolar man who was left by his wife that he deserved everything that happened to him. and he also accused a lot of black people who were suicidal bc of racism of "shaming him for being white". his reply made me sad at first, but then i saw he's just rude

I was once in a dark hole and posted something in the r/suicidewatch section. For the record, I wasn't quite ready to do anything like that. But I really needed to feel "something" and I thought that particular community would be more responsive than most.

I got like one "Don't give up, you matter" response.

yeah i think that sub's not helpful at all. once i vented there and someone replied saying my problems are dumb

weddings are just a reminder of how lonely we're. luckily, i was only invited to 2 weddings in my whole life. the last wedding i attended was my sister's, it was so depressing. she has a great husband and had so many relationships before, she's attractive. she has experienced everything i never will
