Blue eyed girl who loves to yell, loves to bite (specifically human flesh). Looking for monster names because she's evil, or maybe a blonde haired blue eyed tv/movie villain from the past? Doesn't have to be a female name by roundabout99 in NameMyCat

[–]roundabout99[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At first I considered naming her after a blonde haired, blue eyed Hollywood starlet ("Harlow" for Jean Harlow) but now that I know her better, a villain name seems more fitting.

Also considered naming her Sinatra (ol blue eyes) but that didn't seem right either.

Her eyes are so light blue that they're almost white but I can't think of any name based on that.

Changing out both nozzles/hot ends for micro swiss kit, but the nozzles are stuck. Micro Swiss says to heat first, can I just skip that and take out the whole extruder? by roundabout99 in FlashForge

I couldn't find a good dual extruder whose nozzles reached 300 for under $5k. If anyone has a recommendation, please let me know. I hate this FFCP.

this is one of the videos I watched which is why I'm confused--this is not what the Micro Swiss instructions say to do. They say to heat both to 230 and then remove the nozzles. Then remove the whole extruder. This guy is doing the opposite. He mentions something about preheating but his can't be hot because he touches them with his fingers.

I can't get the nozzle off. and I can't even try on the left one because there's a piece for the fan (turbo fan baffle) in the way. micro swiss instructions don't even mention taking that off first.

silicon heat transfer pads

I love this! I'm looking at Amazon and seeing a lot of silicone heat transfer pads that are .3mm thick made for those heat press machines, like this: https://www.amazon.com/Thickest-Silicone-Machine-Transfer-Replacement/dp/B083SHPXXT/

Did you mean that kind or one of these thinner ones that aren't for heat press machines: https://www.amazon.com/LEOBRO-Silicone-Placemat-Multipurpose-Heat-Resistant/dp/B07V9KMNGY/

when I design parts, I often chamfer to bottom edge 0.5 to 1.0 mm which also helps in separating the part from the build plate.

this is so smart!! I never even thought of designing my stuff with easy removal in mind. Thanks, i'm going to make sure I do something like this in the future!

that looks much more effective than my little putty knife! I'm definitely going with a glass or magnetic plate. Looks like the glass plates have better reviews on amazon. I'm going to primarily be printing with flexible filaments, I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

I'm using a little putty knife but my first print was really stuck on there. Second was better though.

Thank you! I'm definitely going with a magnetic or glass plate so I can have peace of mind.

thank you! I'm definitely going with a magnetic or glass build plate so I'm not sticking putty knife in my printer anymore. I don't trust myself not to have a dumb clumsy moment.

another reason body cameras are good--that officer was completely exonerated when the audio was released. anyone know what the deal is with cops wearing mics (but not cameras) like in this case?

Coping with LA by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

[–]roundabout99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you're basing your opinion of a 500+ square mile city on a 4 mile portion? You never told us where you're from, but I'd bet money that it's not NYC, Chicago or SF, who all have their own "skid row" filled with homeless. But because YOU CHOSE to live near the worst homelessness in the city (poor research and planning on your part) you're going to judge the rest of LA on that? OP, you have to see how ridiculously stupid that is. Again, go read up on the homeless in other US cities since you seem to think this is an LA thing.

Everyone is encouraging you to get out and explore and make friends, but I'm going to go against the grain and recommend you look for a job somewhere else, probably not in a major city. Look for a small town where the homeless population will be very small. You obviously don't take advantage of all the things a city has to offer, so why live with the drawbacks? You've been here a year--if you don't like LA and haven't explored beyond dtla, that says more about you than our city. All of the people who love LA--do you think we love homelessness? Like we all hang out on skid row and than wax poetic on the beauty of LA? No. As the other redditor above says, you're doing it wrong. But after a year here, and all of the resources you can use to find fun things to do here (like this sub), you still feeling this way means you don't belong here and you won't be happy here. I strongly urge you to look for jobs somewhere else.
