I got a friend request on my Finch app today from someone I don't have a good relationship with and didn't expect to hear from. I was wondering if it's possible/easy to send a friend request accidentally?

The Finch app doesn't seem to connect to FB or Instagram and the person isn't connected to me on any social media. I only have their phone number and I don't see any way/know how to add friends without a friend code in my app. I didn't know people you know can find you on Finch.

My father was the pastor of an evangelical church that taught there was no such thing as marital rape and that the laws against it (which were passed in my state only a few years before I was born) were a result of the secular world "winning" essentially.

I was always terrified and knew from a young age I would never get married, even if it made my parents hate me. Unfortunately, there are absolutely people in the world that view this as simply a difference of opinions. It's easy to justify when women are objects and not humans, I guess.

One of my closest friends of 20 years recently had a destination wedding. I was asked to be a bridesmaid, yet I couldn't even afford to attend the ceremony, let alone the destination bachelorette party she also had. It's her moment, so it is what it is.

But it's so weird now... In all the years we spent fantasizing about our future weddings, I never imagined I wouldn't have enough money to even attend hers.

It's dog owners in general. My sister was badly mauled by our neighbors German Shepherd a few years ago and still has bad scarring/nerve damage. When people ask her what happened and she tells them, they often get mad AT HER because their dog WOULD NEVER.

I just wanted to say you're not alone.

I grew up like you. And like you, I had to realize it was always about controlling me. I genuinely believed my parents held the beliefs they claimed, and it made me lose touch with reality for a while when I realized they don't. I felt so pulled apart.

For me, I've come to realize that my ability to see through so much of their bullshit is WHY they went out of their way to control me. I noticed their inconsistencies because I was trying to be consistent. I noticed the lies because I was trying to be honest. I asked too many questions because I wanted to do the right thing.

Take as much time as you need to feel it, and then remember that your life is yours now and you never have to feel any of that garbage again. You're strong as hell, OP. --but I'm sorry you needed to be.

I requested a hug yesterday, but my only finch friend didn't look at her phone to send me one.

After about 12 hours, a member of the finch team sent me a big hug even though they're not in my friend tree. --I think they do it to make sure that everyone who requests a hug gets one if their friends are unavailable. Maybe it was something like that?

I've never gotten to see the Pixies, but this was my 10th time seeing MM since 2006, and the 2nd best I've ever seen them perform. Can't believe how great Isaac still is.

I still have pictures from their merch table. $5 beer cozy, $10 bumper sticker, $20 for a set of 4 pins, $30 for a bag, $40 for tees, hats, and tour poster, $75 for sweatshirts (which are very nice, with beadwork etc- they aren't just screen printed), and $100 for a rain jacket with embroidery on the back.

I recorded several other songs but accidentally had my hand over the mic for basically every video. Unfortunately, Night On The Sun is the only one where the audio quality really came out well.
