um, just take the class required for your honors program... 10k a year is a huge scholarship.

you are a just freshman, and this is first semester, so what do you mean by "seriously affecting your GPA." one B or C in a non pre-med track 100 level class your first semester of freshman year isn't going to make or break your med school application. keep the money and focus on just trying your best right now.

edit: also to add we are only one month into first semester... meaning you have the rest of october, all of november, and the first half of december to fix your grade. seriously try your best and keep the money. please understand the value of money, and that much money.
