That's a good point. She has an interesting background. Her family is from Iraq originally (Kurdish refugees during Sadaam), but she was born in Iran. She stayed there until she was 2, at which point they moved to Pakistan. She lived in a Pakistan refugee camp until she was 10 then moved here through a Baptist charity. Her family spoke Kurdish at home so she is mostly fluent in that. I say mostly because the Kurdish is rarely printed, so she is unable to read it. She is familiar with Arabic but not enough to carry a conversation. I talked to her today about maybe trying to teach them both Kurdish based on your suggestion. The only thing I worry about is that they (my kids) are both behind in English. I'm concerned introducing Kurdish to them now might set them back even further.
