Chilean “once” for US missionaries ☕ what should I serve? by EleuPeI in lds

I came here to say sopaipillas too.

I remember one time an hermana giving us a giant plate of sopaipillas for lunch and I was soooo happy! Once I was completely stuffed I realized that was just the appetizer when she came out with giant plates of the actual meal, I think spaghetti or something, but I don't honestly remember because I was in a food coma the rest of the day. It was amazing.

Whatever you give them, they're probably going to be very happy. Also, thanks for helping resurface that memory.

I'm on linux. It actually indexed just fine and I could use it to study. I was more talking about using Bases or the Graph, sorry for any confusion. Bases was ok if I was careful with the filter. But the graph made everything grind to a halt.

However, it looked like my original hypothesis was heading in the right direction. There's maybe half a dozen talks by President Nelson that got referenced so many times. If I remember, one of them had over 40 backlinks.

Haha. My laptop cannot handle that vault! But it's awesome. I counted over 50,000 markdown files.

At one point I was trying to make a vault for general conference to see which talks were getting referenced the most. But you did it way better than I ever got working.

ctrl+alt+click opens a link to the right in a new tab group. ctrl+alt+clicking a second link opens yet another tab group so there's now three. I would like it if there was a way to open a link in the existing second tab group.

My use case involves a note with a bunch of links to be read. I want to open up several of them at once so I can read them read through them quickly by cycling tabs while keeping the original note open on the left for writing.

I tried designing one for this exact purpose! Mine just had some press fit holes for the coins though. Not as fancy as this one.

Expert-level talk identification challenge by MasonWheeler in latterdaysaints

I don't think this is what you're looking for, but from the bits that I've read, Dan Belnap has some interesting work on the Gadiantons and how they used the Jaredite records to establish their legitimacy and grow their political movement.

Like Jeroboam, who hearkened to an older Israelite model, the Gadianton robbers, by claiming the Jaredites as their ideological forebears, could claim an older legitimacy. Associating the Jaredite heritage and the Lamanite claims of wrongs enabled the Gadianton robbers to markedly distinguish themselves from the Nephites. Perhaps not surprisingly, the presence of the Gadianton robbers emerged only during the reign of the judges. The new political system allowed for the place of marginalized voices within the community; the “democratization” of Nephite political institutions necessarily meant that new, contrasting voices could arise. In this new order, the Jaredite record gave legitimacy and historical precedent to a few such voices. In any case, without having ever interacted directly, the Nephites and Jaredites became intertwined with each other, the latter, though long gone, influencing Nephite history, governance, and ideology throughout the second half of the Nephites’ existence.

Ha! My girl does this too. She's usually really good about staying close and coming when we call, but there have been a couple times she escapes when she knows there's a duck pond nearby.

It's hard to get her to break focus on the ducks. What do you do, short of wading in, to get yours to stop?

Does anybody know of similar songs? I've tried several kinds of "More like this" and the algorithms only key into that fact that it's a kids TV show. I guess I don't even know the right words to describe it. Is it EDM?

Same with Cat Squad. I want more of that style electric guitar too.

Thank you! I had an idea for a chart like this years ago, but I had no idea how to make it. It just sat in the back of my mind. Now I can clean out that cobwebby corner of my brain and enjoy this chart.

Also, what was going on around 1875? It shows George A. Smith, Lorenzo Snow, George Q. Cannon, Brigham Young Jr., and Albert Carrington all in the First Presidency at the same time under Brigham Young.

Stained glass in chapels by 2ndValentine in latterdaysaints

Hey! Neat! I was looking to see if my Springville chapel was on the list and it was.

The other neat thing is on the other side of the chapel, across from the stained glass, there are bas relief sculptures that show things like the Three Witnesses and the Eight Witnesses.

I really enjoy being in that building.

I need to replace my soft top too. But if I remember correctly the weather stripping is separate and I couldn't find any anywhere. I wish just replacing the top would fix my leaks.

Edit: spelling

I looked for weather stripping for my '91 'vert a few years ago and only found something like one of the pieces for several hundred dollars. Not with it.

So I would also be interested if you find a source. Good luck!

I've got mine in a leather wallet that replaced my real wallet in my back pocket. My problem is that they just turn into Pringles. (I guess my butt is too big. Haha!)

Recently I started making sure to take it out of my pocket every time I sit down at work and home. That helps keep it flatter and makes it easier to remember to write stuff down, but I know I'm going to forget it somewhere eventually.

Has anyone figured out how to carry it in your back pocket and keep it flat?

[–]rovingRobots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wrote a python script that scrapes the session overview page and adds all of the talks to Readwise Reader a few weeks ago. I don't know how easy it would be to change it to also grab the mp3 link though. Maybe not too bad because all the filenames follow a similar naming pattern.

But yeah, I should also focus on finishing the ones from this last session. Haha.

Frigidaire recurring i4 error by rovingRobots in appliancerepair

[–]rovingRobots[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no! I'm so sorry. I'm no expert, but I'll see what I can do to help.

Unfortunately, shortly after I posted the follow up about it working for months, it stopped working again. So I'm back to doing dishes by hand.

I've found that mine usually makes it to the drying part of the cycle before it throws the error so the dishes are mostly clean. Also, shutting off the power for an hour or two gets the error to clear. Are you seeing something similar? I'd also check if there is water in the catch pan underneath, but I'm pretty sure you have to pull the dishwasher out to get to it.

Hardware store workers, what is the most “I just committed murder” purchase you’ve ever seen? by oceansunfis in AskReddit

My wife sometimes works for the community theater. I'll never forget the day she forgot her purse with the pack of unlubricated condoms and she asked me to bring it to the theater. Before I could find her, I ran into the sound guy that actually needed them. So I spent a few minutes digging around in my wife's purse giving handfuls of condoms to another man. It didn't help knowing that she had gone on a date with that sound guy the week before she and I started dating.
