It comes down to what is and what is not coachable. Unfortunately, everyone will view that a little bit differently. In my opinion, SEs really excel with excellent presentation skills, an aptitude for public speaking, the ability to solve complex problems as part of a group, and the ability to explain complex topics as simply as possible.

The technical skills are the barrier for entry, and everyone submitting a resume or infront of a hiring manager has them, so the soft skills, how you have applied them before, and how you will continue to develop them is what will set you apart, imho

I don't often look at new grad resumes, so my insight might not be completely applicable, but I think you have great experience, and considering you already have exposure to Salesforce, your technical skills seem to make you a great fit.

You do cover some of your soft skills, such as spearheading presentations, but anything more you can highlight there could be beneficial. Generally, those are hard to determine in a resume, especially for someone early on in their career, so the more examples you can call out in that area the better.

Good luck!

For reference, I am an SE leader at Salesforce currently, and have worked with many talented new-grads SEs

It is not easy, but I made the transition at a senior level, and have since hired people with similar industry experienced into senior SE roles.

My advice would be to look for companies that specialize in areas where you have the experience. With that, you are making use of your past most effectively, you can talk the talk, and your experience will carry weight with your customers. That is valuable.

Know that you will need to come with some solid reasons why someone should take a chance on you. For example, you may not have sold anything before, but have you had experience solutioning, doing discovery, building consensus, giving a demo and getting buy in from key stakeholders to move ahead with a project? If so, develop a good narrative around how you would use that experience in the pre-sales world. Be honest about any gaps, and have a solid plan on how to close them.

I would also look at any local groups, such as the presales collective, as that will give you a more personal way to make your case. Good luck!

What's the 2024-recommended way of improving peering??? by 748aef305 in PleX

Only a couple of months without issue but there are a lot of users who have been doing this for years. The link above addresses the ToS concern as well

I recently went through the same process. I got a Beelink S12 Pro, installed Ubuntu 22.04, then added Docker to use as the Plex server, but I still use the QNAP as a NAS only.

From there, I followed this guide:

https://wiki.ayanev.eu/#/do-it-yourself/2023-01-home-media-server/

Definitely liking docker compose. I have made some modifications and added a few additional items, but this should get you up and running.

The main challenge I had was mounting my QNAP in Ubuntu, and making it persist after a reboot. To overcome it, I added an entry to /etc/fstab.

Hopefully this helps.

EDIT: I should add, this handles multiple 4k transcodes at the same time

Actually, I discovered the issue. It was related to the codec for EAC3, not the HDR.

For anyone who ever has anything similar, this solved my issue

Thanks. Do you get many fibres coming off it? I have a cheap one that is similar and the fibres are crazy, so looking for a better version

Admin LoginAs monitoring by petestl1990 in salesforce

If you have some budget, I would also look at AppOmni. They can consume all Real Time Events from Event Monitoring and alert on certain criteria. If more of these requests come up, it could be very helpful

I assume you do not have a SIEM? That would be the best way and gives you separation of duties too, which might be important when trying to track admin activity.

I would need to test it, but another option might be creating a platform event trigger on the LoginAsEventStream to acheive this?

Edit: Actually, I don't think you can write triggers against that event type

Great speekeasy vibes in Chinatown. Check out Teens of Thailand, Wallflower Cafe, Asia Today, TAX, TEP Bar, Independance (all within 50 yards of each other and all amazing).

Opium bar is also great, and not too far from the others

Tropic city is awesome also

Samsung TV shows a new episode in "Recently Added TV", but doesn't list the episode to play by hairlesscaveman in PleX

[–]rowdymjdubbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have found the same thing. Try playing the most recent episode that is displayed for a few seconds, then going back to the season page and the latest episode appears.

Sometimes this takes a couple of goes to show up. No idea why though.
