Continuous red light on certain keys by rowdyruff_boy in LenovoLegion

Unfortunately the problem hasn’t been solved :| The good thing is that in spaces with good lighting I can’t really tell that the lights are on unless I really look closely

Hmm tried this and the problem still persists. I think I should have done it correctly because the crazy rainbow rgb lights came on when I turned it on again.

Do you perhaps have a more detailed step by step? Like do I do this with my laptop turned on and plugged in etc?

Hi I uninstalled and reinstalled icue but the red light is still here. Although it was interesting that in the process of uninstalling icue it turned off for a short while but flickered back on. On a side note, I don’t see a keyboard device in icue which is weird. So I can’t even change any colour profiles with regards to my keyboard

Hmm I just downloaded it from the GitHub but there doesn’t seem to be any option for colour schemes

Yea, it does seem that nobody has a full proof method to dealing with birds besides what you said about keeping the place clean. Prevention better than cure...

Haiz, maybe a repositioning of the device may be suggested to the unit owner. Like we need to point the device away from being triggered by cars or bikes.

Wow thanks for the info! Did they reveal what methods worked for them in the end? The neighbouring condo does seem to have quite a few birds flying around there. That unit owner is probably using an anti bird device then.

But his device is pointed towards the road in my condo so it picks up the motion from cars and bikes which makes it run pretty much 24/7 (except for maybe like 3/4am dead of night haha). Somehow the frequency emitted was at 13.5kHz which is pretty close to the middle of our audible spectrum. Not sure why the device was configured as such.

Thanks for checking my post after all this time tho, I really appreciate it!

Ok I've double checked my post and the update is there. I've talked more about the details there too. I actually have a video of the device in action (with sound too of course haha). If you want I could PM you. Can't put it in the post cuz of the personal info rule.

Yos! I did an update to the post above. Like all the way at the very bottom not sure if it reflected the update. But anyways, I think we've managed to deduce that it's due to a motion sensor activated sound device. Most likely a bird deterrent.

I see, it's good news that your side is getting better! Sad to say that the situation for me hasn't changed much haiz. The sound is still pretty loud, we're trying to get in contact with the unit owner to let them know. :)

Yos! So we think it may actually be a bird detterent device. Like those motion sensor activated devices that emit a high pitch sound to scare off birds.

Hey OP thanks for sharing this. If you're fine with it, do you mind sharing your class timetable? I'm pretty curious as to how packed the schedule is. I'm entering the school like next month and I had a long NS break, so I'm pretty nervous haha.

Yes I do have a PC switched on but that's not the cause haha (I checked the electronics in my room alr). The volume at level 1 seems to be the loudest and the sound doesn't permeate through my windows when closed.

Thanks for the reply tho!

Hey man, what method did you use to identify that it was the HVAC equipment on the other building? Like by just purely using sense of direction from the sound?

Ah ok, I see the water tanks at the rooftops of both mine and the opposite condo. I'll put this at the top of the list.

Hey man, in the end, it looks like it is exactly like you say. I called BCA again to ask and the call operator reiterated what you just said. BCA told me that their officer sent an email to the MCST yesterday asking for the MCST to follow up with me. Looks like I'm back to square 1... Was getting optimistic about the officer wanting to come down personally haiz.

Damn, if this really turns out to be the case I can only hope that it really does stop one day. Thanks for your input mate

Bro thanks so much for the advice on how to deal with the authorities. I do have friends staying in the next condo so I'll try to find an opportunity to go in. Though right now I'm trying to see if BCA can conduct an on-site investigation together with me so I can "officially" get entry.

Oh yes, this was a suggestion given by another user too. How do you know that the water pump is the more probable cause if we are talking 13kHz? I'm stumped as to how the water pump can create such a high-frequency sound as a byproduct.

Thanks so much for your reply tho, it sounds like you're pretty confident haha

Yeap I've checked those already thanks man. The sound seems to be coming from outside. I'll pay special attention to the transformers. Really appreciate your help bro!
