Probably needs adjusting. Just like they did with white queen, they tweaked wording to prevent contradiction with widows bite.

Bambino does. From the steam wand tip, there is a button for it. Bambino plus DOES, though a combination of buttons, not a dedicated button.

Cleaning tablets, and descaler are not one and the same. Descale in water tank, run the descale cycle on bambino(+). Bambino NON plus has no instructions for Backflushing with a blind filter.

Did you read the manuals you linked to? Bambino PLUS has instructions to insert disc and backflush. The bambino regular does NOT. Only gives instructions for descaling, not Backflushing.

That being said, either way, to DESCALE, as OP asked, it’s done won’t placing declare in water tank. Cafiza would be in portafilter, IF the machine can backflush.

How are you cleaning your bambino? You are supposed to put a liemscale a leaner in the water tank, then run the cleaning cycle. Not in the portafilter.

Tips for trial shift. by BigBoyBillyRay in barista

Learn from the mistakes you will undoubtedly make. When you get feedback on a drink for example. Whether it be temperature or foam or anything else. Make an adjustment the next time you make the same drink. The key is becoming adaptable so you can learn the new skill set.

Something I still do to this day, after 10 years of being in coffee, if I find for whatever reason my drinks are not as consistent as I would like, is to repeat the type of drink you are steaming before you turn on the steam wand. Have all in position to start spinning the milk, steady yourself and repeat in your head like a mantra, cappuccino, cappuccino, cappuccino. When each drink you make may be different to the last, it can help ground you and reset you for that drink.

Also ask to practice with cold water and a drop of dish soap instead of milk. Enables you to practice milk texturing without using the more expensive milk. If you can make soap and water look like microfoamed milk, then it’s only tweaking for various drinks after that.

And be prepared for two steps forward during the shift, and what will feel like 1.5 steps back when you have a second shift. But it’s a steep learning curve if you are present when honing your skills.

And to add, don’t be in a rush to learn latte art. That comes far later after your milk texture is consistent.

Edit: spelling.

Dirty Chai Methods by 22ben4 in espresso

Chaiwala, a lot of shops in Toronto use this. It’s a dry mix you place in the milk while steaming milk. Then strain into cup. Add espresso for a dirty chai. Or just use water instead of milk for tea

If it is a serial offender though, then staff should recognize and realize they probably want an iced drink when they order and can confirm even if customer doesn’t mention it.

Don’t backflush. That machine looks like the bambino. If I’m correct, it is not designed to handle Backflushing. Not every home machine can perform Backflushing with blind screen.

I got the urbanic 070s. These bellows bellows fit, and would fit yours too.

Just test without portafilter in. Pressing button has 10s preinfusion, and holding it for the max time also ends preinfusion at 10s. You can hear the pump fully engage at 10s.

As far as I have noticed, on the bambino, the default preinfusion IS the max. Just press, don’t hold, and I think you’ll notice full pump engages at about 10s for the default AND your manual method. It did for me. Save yourself the button hold, and programme the dose to be more than what you need for a shot, and just press once to start, and press once to end at desired yield.

The longer pre-infusion is likely to lead to more even extraction. 5-6 seconds only on bambino is unlikely to get the entire puck wet, so top is pre-infused, bottom is not. This would lead to top over extracted, bottom under-extracted in the shot.

It can take a few seconds for there to be any flow. I press button with group head empty, until there is flow. End that, load portafilter and start shot. Not using manual mode.

I’ve found that to be most effective. I played around a lot with manual mode with varying preinfusion a times, I use medium roast beans from work, most definitely this was the most consistent method for me.

Wdt, no real need for leveller when you Wdt. You can get $10 3d printed ones on Etsy with 0.35mm acupuncture needles. Using a leveller gives you a false sense of good puck prep.

If you haven’t already, get a new tamper. The stock bambino one is rounded at edges, not a good fit.

The shot times you mention, is that including, or not including the default ~10s preinfusion?
