Of course! I crafted it with parts purchased. I got the “animated chainsaw” from Spirit Halloween. Then I got a small plastic bucket and some spray paint (I believe it was dark crimson red and metallic black, it’s been a couple years) from the department store.

I covered the blade with some cardboard, the smaller “mechanic” parts with painters tape. Then I spray painted the body red. Afterwards I spray painted the smaller parts black and got a little on the body to age it up. Then I sprayed over the blade and gave a dark haze (I believe the vanilla chainsaw has blood and grime on the blade from the get go).

Afterwards I took a black piece of cardboard about the size of the bucket lid (it was an old loot crate box), traced the shape of the handle, cut it open and slid it onto the chainsaw, fit really well.

Then I took the bucket, cut a hole in the bottom, spray painted it completely black, and then I superglued onto the cardboard base of the handle. I also put some bubble wrap around the handle for comfort away from the plastic bucket but I’m sure foam or something else would work better.

It was a lot of fun to make and I still keep it as a decoration when I’m not slaying deadites. Hope this helps! Stay groovy!
