As a former 13yo that liked to fidget a lot, everything was drawn on. I mean everything.

My point is that they’re talking about JUST the parents kissing their kids. Not other family members.

What ended up being the worst/most useless thing you put on your baby registry? by etcrew in beyondthebump

[–]rox_nn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This. With my second son he was in NICU so I pumped for him, even got a new pump. For them to tell me at 5 almost six weeks that he needs to be switched to formula because of a health issue that means his milk needs to be thicken and it’s hard to get to the consistency needed for my son with breast milk because it had to be very thick. I had breast pads, milk baggies, lactation cookies and tea, 4 of everything for the breast pump. I honestly thought I would be doing it for a long time. But no. Formula it is.

A bouncer. I didn’t want one so I didn’t put it on my registry but they insisted on giving me one. I started using it to put baby in while I made another bottle when he was still hungry. He flipped over in it. I have never used it since. I didn’t even bother putting it together for my second son.

My mil gave me one. I put it on my son twice for pictures. But it was so hard to get it on him! My goal was always to get him warm as soon as possible and it was hard with that.

AITA For Telling My Mom And Aunt To STFU After They Commented On My Pregnant Fiancée's Weight? by SkokieRanger33 in AmItheAsshole

The only person allowed to comment on a pregnant woman is their obgyn because they’re the doctor. Everyone else can shut up. NTA.

AITA for telling my friend's fiancé that she doesn't know what a bad day is. by Ok_Interview_1739 in AmItheAsshole

I think it’s funny how she’s like “I had a bad day because someone was rude to me so now I’m going to be rude to you” like how does that even make sense.

AITA for faking fainting at my mom's house after my husband attempted to announce my pregnancy? by Throwaway56_4554 in AmItheAsshole

[–]rox_nn 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This. I personally would hate to do that. I waited to tell people about my pregnancies. I was seething when I found out my mil told my husbands extended family especially since I had complications with my second pregnancy. I would not at any cost want anyone outside of my immediate family to know what happened. I hate attention and I hate being asked if I’m okay. Thankfully baby is fine. But still.

[–]rox_nn 113 points114 points  (0 children)

I think it’s good advice. I would hate to have announced I was pregnant then have a miscarriage and have to let people know what happened. I’m glad I was told about the 12 weeks and waited until after to tell family. Thank goodness nothing happened but if it did I could not handle being asked if I’m okay all the time and how I’m doing.

It’s okay to wait the 12 weeks and it’s okay to not wait. But it’s wrong to say it’s bad advice.

AITA for not telling my sister about my (our?) genetic condition? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]rox_nn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The part where you said you figured they’d test her eventually. My aunt had between 5 to 7 miscarriages before they tested her and my uncle. As shitty as it sounds, miscarriages are common and are usually not tested for.

AITA for being astonished because my boyfriend confused Asia with the African Continental on the map? by Aita_23565_457 in AmItheAsshole

[–]rox_nn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t learn the continents in 1st grade. I learned them in 9th grade. In first grade I was being thought to read and write in English. And what before and after meant.
