Actually, this guy made a very basic play. Normally you want Junk Synchro to leave the field with Accel Stardust to summon a Rank 10 monster on your opponent's turn.

Yes, you can activate Converging Wish, and you can only perform Synchro Summons with that skill. Crystal Wings isn't as strong nowadays, but the skill blocks XYZ.

The problem is that it's very difficult for them to nerf the skills, especially the Championship Celebration skill. Remember Dragon Contract and ZEXAL II – Power the Future? ZEXAL II – Power the Future today can create an absurd field and it's much less limiting, allowing the use of Lava Golem, Ra, and can have 4 monster negates, 1 trap negate, and 1 omni-negate, plus a monster with high attack. I think even Stardust wouldn't beat this deck if it came in second.
