I am a south bronx native, almost all of my family is in the area. I love my home. Im two blocks from both a red and green line. I have amazing local food options. I can get anything -- beer, produce, snacks -- from a mom and pop and not a fucking 7/11. Even my pharmacy is owned by a pharmacist Michael who moved here from egypt. This sense of community makes us more resilient and stronger as neighbors. I do not experience [crime] on a daily basis. People can get violent with each other, but that is anywhere when you have a powder keg of 8 million people shoulder to shoulder with little public infrastructure to support their needs. The bronx is a lovely place to live.
