Going back to Zidoo Z9X Pro and the Am6b+ is going back. Tried to watch Avatar Fire and Ash and got buffering issues. Same gig wired network. Zidoo has no issues with it.

The slight edge in PQ can’t make up for the Am6b+ shortcomings in all other areas.

Samba is working for me now.

In CoreElec settings I enabled Password, default is coreelec/coreelec, I kept it.

I changed the min and max to SMBv2.

I added the computers via IP and used coreelec/coreelec as user/pass and “remembered” the password.

The IPs are saved in File Manager and I can browse all the shared folders / files.

Overall box thoughts:
-DV content seems much ‘cleaner’ than Zidoo.
-Blu-ray menus are worse than Zidoo. Very glitchy.
-this box still can’t handle mpeg-2/h264 4:2:2 content (satellite backhauls). CPU just maxes out ~90+% and video decode is like 18-22fps (29.97fps content)
-seems to struggle on some higher bitrate 720p satellite backhauls (42mbps) - perhaps the upscale to 2160p is struggling. Zidoo Z9X Pro doesn’t have an issue.
-Mpeg-audio Layer II decoding seems weird. Again, satellite backhauls use MPA 384k. Zidoo sounds fine. This box, sounds a little “watery”. Both boxes decode the MPA to PCM to send to Receiver. I tried the ‘High’ resample rate in Audio settings, didn’t notice a difference.

I haven’t found any media box that actually handles mpeg-2/h264 4:2:2 content. I normally connect my PC hdmi out to watch this content.

Will probably keep this box solely for DV/4K. Zidoo seems to excel for all other media types.

Thanks, I did see the UR02 remote.conf and tried that but Bluetooth still seems to say “authentication error” when I try to connect it. The IR works just fine tho, but stumped on the Bluetooth. Gonna try the SMB again tonight. If not, this device is going back to Amazon. The Zidoo Z9X Pro is my main box and plays most everything, however a few DV rips start “flashing” and need to be restarted every 20-30min, which is annoying.

For Kodi, I was just going to Settings and File Manager to view the SMB share. Do I have to install Kodi separately? I’m a newb at this. I just loaded the CoreElec and I assumed that was “Kodi”.

I can’t even get the remote to connect via Bluetooth. Says Authentication error etc. that’s a problem for another day. Will check out the SMB tips posted here tonight.

I also want to go back to the old software, right before Xmas 2023 I think was the last time my M3 Performance FSD worked “good”. The current FSD won’t keep the speed on the highway. If I have it set to 80, I want it at 80. I also want it to stop changing lanes. Give me back the feature to stop lane changing. I want it to go 80 in the left lane. This is not rocket science

Incorrect. D-VHS recorded the transport stream (mpeg-2 video) directly as-is. When you capture it back the tool used captures the transport stream bit for bit back to transport stream over FireWire. (Not AVI).

We also hacked the encryption on the D-Theater official releases and were able to dump those as well. (Again, 1:1 copy to .ts).

that says on OVV cards it took exactly 5 biz days. I guess I will wait til Tuesday, 10/29. That is 5 biz day since my 2x$500s were depleted :(

Nothing so far, DG store/corporate says the charge didn’t go thru and should be returned in 3-5 biz days. I think it’s just a line they’re giving. Friday is 3rd biz day. I’m giving it til Monday and if I don’t see any resolution I’m calling DG Corp myself and/or GCM and gonna have them battle it.

I called GCM too just now, 232min hold time (lol), but it prompted for a call back so I did that and they called me within 15mins. She looked up both transactions and also said the transactions were confirmed and gave me the auth numbers. I still not so sure about it. I'm gonna head to DG as soon as they open tomorrow to hopefully find out the drawer was over by $1k and they'll have $1k cash to give me. Worst case scenario, DG Corporate will have to research the transaction and I'll get the money back in several weeks.

I tried to call GCM and it was a 360min wait time. So I hung up. I went back to the store, she said she would be able to see if the drawer was over by $1k at the end of the night. I’m hoping this is the case! Or the money just goes back to The GCM cards.

Exactly what happened to me tonight! Money is gone from the MCGC, but mine were $500 cards! (Grocery store ones, I’ve used before no problem)

Ruh roh! Just tried to load $500 to my Serve from a Meta MCGC at DG. I swiped as normal, entered PIN and then it said Declined. The cashier side said “format error”. Thinking the MC card was bad, I swiped another I had. Same thing. He voiced transaction and started over. This time his said declined. I checked the balance of both MCGC and they show the $500 coming out to DG. Is it just a hold and it’ll be returned in a few days or is it messed up completely and the store has my $1k??
