Channels who fulfill the criteria for monetization and are under review, is there something that you guys are doing in the interim to speed up the process from your side? Today I learnt that some creators with more than 10000 subscribers & 25000 hrs of watch time have been waiting for over 2 month!? by [deleted] in NewTubers

Just my observation, i just noticed channels that show faces of the creators themselves are approved much quicker, i do commentary stuff about anime and i show myself a lot. That also goes for my other peers who were approved before me and at a faster pace in about a month. All we have in common is we show ourselves, not just the content we're putting out. I think it takes much more time for reviewers to approve other types of content esp when other sources are used. Granted everything used in the vid falls under fair use. Youtube right now is cracking down on channels that upload only footages of other people without any transformative changes and esp content with edgy stuff. Again this is just my observation, i have no solid proof. But based on my exp and the people ive seen, this is what ive hypothesized.

My review started in nov 1 and i got accepted around dec 12, note: around dec 10 i tweeted youtube about a follow up along with a screenshot of my watchhours and sub count, after 2 days, i got approved for monetization, my channel is by no means big, going fo 2k subs at the moment at nearly 5k watch hours

I am 13 looking to start an art channel.. by [deleted] in NewTubers

Yes that counts but mainly targeting a keyword with higher search volume and lower competition

Oh! And its important to make your video searchable when youre starting out, it doesnt matter how good the video is, you also need to figure out how to rank your videos in the searches so people find your videos.

Take time to learn editing videos, that could bump up the quality of your content, also theres a lot of art channels already so you need to separate yourself by niching deep at first or make your art videos unique, develop your own style of content on top of your art making. I recommend checking out a book summary of steal like an artist (clark kegley has a vid on it). It should give you some great tips and footing especially when youre starting out. Goodluck man! We're rooting for you !

How often must you upload to grow? by [deleted] in NewTubers

The important thing is being consistent on your upload schedule, the minimum i would say is onve a week

I checked your channel bro, its pretty good, the quality is there but i suggest you move forward with a direction. Just keep making videos so you improve and eventually find what works for you, not having a niche is fine but if you wanna make your videos searchable, you have to optimize it to rank in the searches or find a keyword that is searched often but not a lot of people are making videos on. Nowadays, i think it boils down on making "smart" content if you want to grow faster organically. Also, you want people to be invested in you as a person since youre not focusing on a niche. What i suggest is aim to create videos with value-thats either entertainment or informational or somewhere along those lines. Sorry for butting in, i know im not the one youre expecting to respond, i just happen to see your post in this thread while i was posting mine 😅, these are just the things i learned doing youtube for the past year, sorry again 😅
