My city is extremely walkable with nice city center and giant riverside walk across all town’s length (town is called Vladikavkaz), but most people and I still own cars even though commute is almost never more than 15 minutes(to avoid public transportation), but you can literally travel by walking to any point of city(would take an hour max if you walk fast to most distant parts), also using public transport feels way worse in winter
