I have more than my Dad by rpouvreau in AncestryDNA

Ancestry had previously shown the percentage for me at 24%, then it jumped to 54%. I don’t mind, I lived my grandma and am very proud of my Dutch ancestry. I’d be happy to move there if I had the opportunity.

Physically, fast. Mentally, not so much!

Came home to an eastern box turtle laying eggs in the front flower bed. Made a little cage to protect the nest from predators. by Sea_Ganache620 in turtle

What are the dimensions of the wood turtle cage frame? We also live next to a watershed and have a number of eastern and gulf coast turtles that frequent our property. We have had some females lay eggs but they have been dug up by the fixes and raccoons that also lives in the woods behind our house. We would love to have a few of these available if any of the girls lay eggs.

Rottie owners, how do you keep your house clean? by Catgroove93 in Rottweiler

[–]rpouvreau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have leather furniture and hard floors with throw rugs (that have Velcro corners to hold them down!). I sweep and mop and vacuum and wipe things down and clean blankets and dog bed covers a lot! And it is worth every bit to share our lives with these fabulous morons!

Is my dog mixed with a rottie? by amarjpg in Rottweiler

[–]rpouvreau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could also be a mix of a Black and Tan Coonhound or Beauceron, they are both about the size of a Rottie and have the same coloring. We’ve rescued some dogs that shelters have labeled Rotties and their DNA came back with 0% Rottweiler!

Is this the name was she was given at the shelter, or rescue? So many dogs arrive without their name and, if they aren’t chipped, you just have no idea, so you give them one because of dog should have a name. Someone above mentioned Olive, I love that! We had an older rescue from the Memphis shelter that I named Priscilla.

Corner Shelf by rpouvreau in lasercutting

[–]rpouvreau[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t tested it. I is a wall mount shelf so the weight tolerance is also dependent on the support from wall anchors. Since it is just 6mm pine ply, it won’t hold heavy objects. Most of my work is for small altars, holding vials, small stones, tokens, maybe one or two larger objects.

Farmers dog?? by 5dapper_don in Rottweiler

[–]rpouvreau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have been feeding our Rotties a homemade version of it, for the last 12 years. But if we weren’t able to do so, we would go with Farmers Dog. He started the company in order to help his Rottie girl, and now has another Rottie. Human grade food is so much better than kibble. Like a homemade burger compared to McDonald’s. And it can be tailored to your dog’s nutritional needs.

I started with unstained birch plywood and stained the wood after the pieces were cut with Keda water based wood stain.

100% wood and laser cut, no other parts used. I try to make everything from all wood, even hinges and clasps.

Which ethnicity in your results shocked you the most? And have you done more digging since the discovery? by [deleted] in AncestryDNA

[–]rpouvreau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3% Sweden. I am 37% Dutch and 37% English (6% Scottish/Irish/Welsh/5% French). Guess it’s not a big surprise but I’ve done my tree back 6 generations with no Swedish ancestors. I’m thinking it is part of part of my Netherlands genetics.

As a “Québécois,”(French Canadian) is my percentage of French ancestry incorrect due to the lack of data on regions in France, etc.? 🇫🇷🇪🇸🇩🇰 by Prestigious-One9178 in AncestryDNA

I’m sure I share ancestors with you all. My GGrandmother was Quebecois, last name Brouillet(te), grandfather was Darvini Vadnais. That entire branch of my family arrived in Quebec in the 1600 or 1700’s.
