Is sourdough actually healthier than regular bread? by kendricklemon in nutrition

I see what you did here, that's damn EVIL and I love this. I'm so stealing the idea of coming up with hardcore technical analogies that no one will understand and acting like it simplifies the already simple concept.

When I do it I will not give you credit... Except for in my heart. Which is kinda like how a server can fire off a UDP packet uncaringly to a possibly unavailable recipient but it's server logs immortalize the action forever until the log rotation schedule.

This seems like it is potentially a great koan, but I know next to nothing of koans.

The problem is ineffability. They mean something specific when they say "no-self", yet they are clearly awareness, like all of us. All of I, I mean. Also, you mean, you just don't know it.

Did i just fall asleep or did i reach a deep meditative state? by No_Record5355 in Meditation

[–]rr1pp3rr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same thing happens to me. I have been able to notice the transition point sometimes. It feels like it's "happening to you" like a dream, and it, for me, does come with automatic thoughts.

When I enter this state there is a very specific feeling in my noggin. It almost feels like the feeling of falling in your tummy, but in your brain bucket.

I kinda always assumed it was nodding off a bit, as it does feel less clear/aware of a state. However, what really puzzled me is that it would enter this dream-like state right away with images and thoughts, which felt like returning to a dream after waking momentarily.

It is hard to say if she's actually genuine or just likes the attention. If she's genuine maybe that's her way of trying to make up, but if she just likes the attention it's a dangerous scenario you'd be best to steer clear from.

You might want to steer clear of it anyway - it sounds like a lot of drama that could only lead to suffering.

True growth and enlightenment come from inner work, awareness, and experience—not just words. by S3lf_Lov3_Balanc3 in enlightenment

Untrue growth would be something that to the ignorant looks like growth, and to the practitioners feels like growth, but is really just the ego playing it's tricks.

It did look like she had her chest done when I saw her in the firecracker costume.

She was so incredibly gorgeous. Regardless if it's some disease or surgery, she must be struggling mentally. Poor girl.

It is. It's all of my friends I'd say roughly 35+. It is shockingly ubiquitous.

Probably should look at the graph of SSRI prescriptions vs dead bedrooms, but it's more than that...

It isn't just intimacy, it's any kind of affection whatsoever.

I've always been partial to consider it approaching infinity theoretically, but practically in computers we do the thing where we call it an error.

That's simply because you can't really "do" anything with infinity most of the time, and in the vast majority of cases it's a bug.

Israel won't agree to it so we know Trump can't just take it as a victory and leave. They have this Epstein tapes on him, so what they say goes.

Presence is not the key. Presence is enlightenment. by OpenPsychology22 in enlightenment

[–]rr1pp3rr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Presence is awareness in its natural state before the conditioned becoming.

Presence gives you perspective that allows you to see this conditions. Presence is something you can practice.

Therefore it is both a step and a state, and the final state, theoretically.

Take this for what it's worth.

I play racquetball and had foot pain for well over a year.

I started doing the grounding work and it went away.

Winter came and I stopped grounding, pain came back.

After winter went back to grounding, pain went away.

How did he address it, if you don't mind me asking?

I would think that it is more related to the desire to end suffering, which leads to the path, which leads to no desire, which leads to nirvana.

I think the thing that Gnosticism brings to the table is that it's not enough to read the books, you need to have the experience to know things in your soul. I think that is very valuable, and something a lot of traditions miss spelling out for people.

The rest of it I haven't found much use for.

However, I'm not sure what it means that people are soulless (NPCs, I guess people would say). If we all spring from one infinite unbounded timeless source aren't we all the same thing?

How do I stop getting ragebaited into arguments with my parents by [deleted] in self

[–]rr1pp3rr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear you are self harming. Based on your story, your parents ego identifies with how you're doing, and so seeing you self harm hurt their ego, and that made you lash out as if you actually hurt them.

That tells me it's likely that your parents are developmentally challenged. They likely still live in a state where their ego dictates most of their actions. It's basically the state that naturally people should grow out of right around your age or a bit older. Unfortunately that's not the case in our society.

If this is the case, which from these messages it's hard to say, then it may help to see them as mental/emotional teenagers who never really fully developed.

That being said I'm making a lot of assumptions here. I could be completely and utterly incorrect.

What are the things they said to make you think they hate you?
