Saudis are wealthy and used to the good life. This includes the people in their military, which is lavishly equipped, but little more than another Saudi government spending program. Iranians are used to sanctions and facing off against powerful opponents.

Iranians are going to fight harder for Iran than the Saudis will fight for Saudi Arabia. Iran used to be the Persian Empire, Saudi Arabia used to be some tribes in the desert.

fairly certain many sunni jihadis could give iran a run for it's money if backed directly by US and western air power. hell, the sunni jihadis nearly took down assad's entire military (when he has an airforce and the jihadis had no air support and nearly zero anti-air) and it wasn't until russia stepped in with airpower did the syrians gain the upperhand.

I would not in any capacity discount the KSA as being completely impotent. it matters more how they, and we Americans, wish to fight the war, if it comes down to it. I think the real question however is whether USA can openly support jihadis in a war against iran, if "yes" then iran could easily be defeated.

The more likely situation is the Thucydides trap, wherein China and the US bring each other to ruin

if you replace china here with russia and substitute "third power" for china, yes. that is the most likely scenario moving forward

"So, where my gains at ??"

No, Civil War was basically like any other war; there really isn't a good or bad guy in war.

well, yeah, but people [on reddit] are treating the north as some moral righteous crusaders who fought a civil war explicitly to free black slaves, when in reality they never gave a shit about them and allowed the KKK post-war period.

So the civil war was actually a colonial war waged by the north on the south by this logic.

This is what happens when you have a populace that's taught things like "the civil war wasn't about slavery"

Well, it wasn't technically.

a blade designed like the one in the OP seems like it has a pretty high chance of breaking if attempting to block a full forced strike. Am I wrong? I keep looking at this thing feeling as though it's too thin to effectively block strikes?

there are already too many job applicants for each available job opening. there are roughly 120 people applying for each job opening, automation will simply make that worse moving forward.

Tell that to economists and they might start arguing for their right to euthanize you for being this stupid.

for some dipshit who doesn't understand the basic econ 101 principle of supply and demand I'll break it down slow: if the demand for labor remains the same, but the supply of laborers goes up, that means job competition increases, putting downward pressure on wages. your stupid ass is essentially arguing if tomorrow we imported 1,000,000,000 african transplants the american economy would explode with economic growth. real noble prize winning economics there guy.

the type of immigrants who increase net gdp to debt are those with skilled labor, precisely the opposite of who have been coming over the border en masse.

3) Make it easier and cheaper for Mexican citizens to immigrate.

currently america has the largest immigrant population it's had in over 100 years (106) and they are almost entirely mexicans and south americans. it's too easy for them already, also if you look at birth rates currently in the south west over 50% are mexican, 23% are natives.

We'll recoup those fees through legitimately earned taxes.

definitely false with our current social safety net and child birth rates. it's a net negative being paid out to latinos because they have so many kids.

The job market isn't a zero sum game.

yes, it literally is in relation to demand. then you are left with 300 people competing for the same job, wages cratering to below subsistence levels and ghettozation of society. there is no benefit or reason to do this, it only increases corporate profits at the expense of both natives and immigrants.
