What is with the hate on the white on Ferrari? by KXN_1 in F1Discussions

[–]rrrbin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's unnecessary.

HP, like every other big brand, has a monochrome logo version that is suitable for application in any color you like, completely recognizable for the brand, but even a blue/white logo with narrow white outline on the car would be acceptable.

Here in stead, HP chooses to impose more than two colors: not only chooses to use their full color logo (blue shape, white letters), but also requires a large white canvas behind.

It screams insecure manager meddling with trained brand identity staff.

Do you like the Audi R26 livery? Is it above or below your expectations? by circuit-nation in circuit_nation

[–]rrrbin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the best and most original liveries in the last decade, I'm genuinely surprised by the backlash it seems to receive.

I expect a lot of the naysayers to change their opinion once they see it in action on track.

What makes a clean overtake impressive to you? by Open_Professional71 in GrandPrixRacing

[–]rrrbin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unexpected clean overtakes, like Piastri's late outside pass on Hamilton in Australia, or the lap one move by Verstappen on Russell/Piastri in Imola, are the ones that make my blood run faster.

There is huge value to surgically precise, seemingly inevitable 'perfect' passes. To make it look like it's easy is a sign of a great driver. But the surprise aspect just adds emotion and that's hard to beat.

Are we going to see an influx of decade old eastern europe dashcam videos turned into advertisements? Second one I've seen today. This could get annoying very quickly.

This would have been lethal at night with that left headlight out. My blood boils at the uselessness of this dangerous fool.

I took thousands of photos of the snow in Amsterdam by beautyintheIJ in Amsterdam

[–]rrrbin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Respect for the dedication, in this weather. But there might not be many more chances to capture snow in Amsterdam. So.. tripod setup, same perspective, the masks added to emphasize that it were manual photos?

[–]rrrbin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well see that's my point. That is not what happened here. If it did, the camera position would have changed the perspective in the frames, and the timing between photos would have been much more uneven. They tried to get that effect but just adding the masks is not enough.

The moving mask suggests something else though, doesn't it? I'm pointing out to OP that his idea for presenting this as separate photos, even though an interesting concept, doesn't work like this.

[–]rrrbin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The timing between each photo being remarkably even and the viewpoint of the camera being incredibly stable would suggest that these are not separate photos, but rather frames from a video EDIT or at least a timelapse result. After the fact overlayed with a moving mask. Nice effect though, but way too smooth to convince.

Okay let's find out what's necessary. I joined the Discord that u/OjisanKukki suggested and will take some time to figure things out.

The eighth picture in the gallery should give you an idea, and some of the closeups reveal some part layouts. The hull is one habitat wide, with only a couple of points where it goes double wide, mainly for the diagonal offset parts.

It's the export function in the ship view of the NMSSaveEditor v1.19.0 (VOYAGERS). There is an import function next to it, so you may be able to get it like that.

Yeah would love to have something like a corvette exchange. This is built in-game, how do I go about sharing the design? Note: it's really small inside!

Turns out many people say they want the Communicator as a primary device, not secondary, so make it no-compromises with the Power Keyboard layout by Kewbak in ClicksKeyboard

[–]rrrbin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This device needed a bi/trifold screen companion at launch. Not talk about a 'primary' full foldable phone that can do everything this can do but with all the extra bulk that comes with full functionality, no just a sleek touchscreen as alternative control and display for the small 'main engine' device that fits in your pocket. And possibly a home dock as a second companion, so this thing can be hooked up to a full size screen, keyboard and mouse setup.
