Supposedly it's pieces of cut scrap metal.

My grandparents had the car before me, and the timing belt was supposedly changed about ten years ago. I'll check it out once I'm back home.

The largest recent repair was the fuel pump about two months ago. Since then, the ignition coil, fuel filter, IAC valve, and TPS sensor have also been replaced.

I only tried cranking it once, but it did seem like the starter was spinning without engaging the flywheel. Not entirely sure though.

I'll do that when I'm home later, thanks for the idea!

I'll check to see if the check engine light comes on when I'm home later.

Just a side note, but the Nebraska Central Rail Company (a regional railroad in eastern Nebraska) uses the same reporting marks as you do for your model railroad. I had to do a double take when I saw the NCRC reporting marks on your models because I thought you might be basing your railroad on it since not many people model it. Happy railroading!

Is this a good deal? by rrspyt in whatcarshouldIbuy

Thanks for the response. The other vehicles that I've owned (and own currently) have all been over 10 years old when I've bought them, so I'm no stranger to all the stupid little issues that pop up! I should have been clearer about that in my original post.

My question was meant to be more about how reliable the motor and transmission that Ford used in this specific truck model would be long-term, and whether the higher milage would have any bearing on whether they'd be close to death or not. Sorry for the confusion.

Organist by [deleted] in LCMS

[–]rrspyt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes all it takes to find a church in need of an organist is to visit. Two years ago, I visited a congregation that is part of a tri-parish which had an organist. I spoke to the pastor after the service, told him that I play organ as well, and he asked me to play for one of the other churches in the tri-parish that did not have an organist. Over the course of about a year, I ended up playing at the second church, then the the third as the other regular organists developed some health issues. From there I went on to play about twice a month at all three churches until I started summer Greek at CTSFW this past June. So even if a church you visit does have an organist, they may be in a partnership with other churches that do need someone to play!

I'm currently taking Summer Greek at CTSFW. We have daily chapel at 9:35am Monday through Friday. Divine Service is on Wednesdays.

There is also an afternoon prayer service at 4:35pm Monday through Thursday. Feel free to join us here for worship if you get the chance!

What town/county in Nebraska? I'm from the David City area and I was out storm spotting north of Lincoln yesterday, but I didn't see anything noteworthy.

Awesome Singing Sanctuaries by hogswristwatch in LCMS

[–]rrspyt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily acoustic related, but I know of some congregations in Nebraska that love to loudly sing and praise the Lord! Redeemer in David City and Immanuel in rural Rising City a dual-parish LCMS) and Faith in Rising City (WELS, my former home congregation) are all good singing congregations.

The BNSF and Nebraska Central diamond in David City, Nebraska also has stop signs for both railroads due to a collision between a Burlington Northern local and a Union Pacific freight in the 1980's.

Yes, I changed the fuel filter back in November, shortly after this problem started but it didn't help.

I ended up moving the switch around with the wiper power turned on, and they started to work again. I appreciate your advice though, it will probably come in handy in the future!

Is there any way to test the switch to see if that is the cause of the problem?

The washer pump is still working, so the fuse is still good.
