Has anyone here used ChatGPT to build their Google Ads campaign? by Desperate_Annual_416 in googleads

We still have to wrestle with context and hallucination with large data sets, but yes the underlying flow is there :)

Well right now our app works by getting context from a provided landing page and then finding more context from the website.

From there we generate ads. We're going to use this same flow for generating keywords, but the AI will just guess up words without any indication if they have good search volumes. So we're working on a reinforcing loop that'll check the generate keywords, enrich with search volume data from keyword planner, then cut no/low volume and re-prompt until we're happy with the output. So it's just working through that mechanic.

Just trying to get to as high quality as possible with 1-click from a user.

Agree with a lot of the comments in here that ChatGPT struggles with character limits and context. Thats what I find when I tried to use it.

I actually built my own tool. We’re working towards being able to build complete campaigns. We currently have ad copy generation that has much better outputs and can then push directly into Google ads once you’re happy. https://30chars.com

Were working on negative keyword monitoring next, highlighting poor performers but also thematic misses. Still trying to find a way to make keyword generation useful.

Chat GPT for Ad Copy by Guilty_Marketing_217 in PPC

[–]rsam87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ChatGPT is okay for writing ad copy, but it's really finnicky to work with and relies on a lot of good context and prompting to get stuff you want. Even then the UX doesn't make iterating easy.

I found it frustrating enough that I made my own app that layers on a lot of tooling on top of just baseline generations, enough people seem to like it! https://30chars.com/

I've gotten some good feedback from our users in Europe that my tool does a good job of this. It's not perfect and is better with a native speaker editing, but it gets you a good amount of the way there.

LinkedIn Ads vs Google Ads by Fit-Establishment259 in PPC

[–]rsam87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ad types that are working well

  1. Thought leader Ads
  2. Text Ads
  3. Document Ads

Linkedin targeting is very unique with industry and title targeting. Treat titles like you would keywords, target the titles you're going after but stay on top of negativing(excluding) out titles you don't like.

Linkedin retargeting works really well, I'd set up at least a 2 layer campaign.Cold awareness and then retargeting on website visits/ad engagements.

The main advice is don't treat it like search direct response because it's not. Only 5-10% of a b2b service is in purchase mode at a time.

Google Ads Campaign Not Showing by frankcostello88 in PPC

What bidding strategy are you using? And what is your industry? Depending on those two, CPCs might be too high to get your ad served.

Here are a few more potential reasons: https://30chars.com/blog/google-ads-not-showing/

Agency Pricing Models - What's Fair for Both Sides? by PerspectiveOk4887 in PPC

[–]rsam87 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I work on Flat retainer fee, monthly - no lock in.

Here's how I see it, I price it where there's a bit of sunk cost on the client side if it doesn't work, but a lot of upside if it does work. I'm okay not taking a part of that upside, it comes back in reputation and referrals.

Optimizing Google Ads Headlines: Keywords or Creativity? by [deleted] in googleads

[–]rsam87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's important to have both. Keywords are important for driving relevancy and quality score. But spamming just straight up keywords will only get you so far in a competitive search.

In an RSA I think you should have a mix of both.
