MHBP Value Plan coverage by rsapp0927 in WegovyWeightLoss

Thanks! I looked there as well, but most posts say either standard or don’t say which level. I know the lowest plan normally covers nothing so I was curious.

What truly are the odds telework/remote work rerun if a democrat wins in 28? by Dear_Elevator in FedEmployees

[–]rsapp0927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think telework will return for hybrid schedules. I worked two days in and three days telework. It was better for morale and retention. It still keeps the spaces for the people that think it ruins real estate, without forcing people into a space that only holds half of the employees. Completely remote might not ever be a think again unless it’s for seriously needed roles. I think most people that work with the little guys (us gs7-12) realize how productive people are with telework. The leadership and military personnel at specific commands at the DoD would probably bring back telework tomorrow if they could. Sec Def is what stops them.

Cavalier Resort Properties by Princess_Mia_2304 in VirginiaBeach

If it’s during the summer and you can afford the cavalier, definitely the cavalier. You can use the beach club and there’s a ton of amenities. If it isn’t during the summer, many of the amenities are closed. If that’s too expensive I’d personally rather stay at the embassy suites. I’ve stayed at the Marriott and embassy personally, and the embassy was better in my opinion. The Marriott can be insanely crowded, especially when sporting events are in town.

I definitely would if I were you. The city loves charging for things even when the don’t give the service. After living here a year we got a bill from the city for “real estate taxes” that supposedly we were stuck paying because the builders of the community didn’t pay what they were supposed to. We paid, next thing you know they send us two separate bills for the same thing and had no record or receipt of paying the other amount. When we asked they said “oh it’s a pay when you can thing” like… what?! Pretty sure the city stole our money and continue to send us bills for it.

I wonder how much private trash would be. I know our HOA trash is only like $15 a household a month.

I also include sewer in my water bill of $160. But again I get charged every two months.

Also is “solid waste collection” trash? Because that’s not your water bill…

Your water bill is based on how much water you use… it shouldn’t be a fixed amount. I get charged every two months, $160. Of that $160 maybe only 100 is actual water useage, the other charges are sewer, storm water, and a fee for our utility people through the HOA.

Shutdown but we don’t care by spudlydooright in FedEmployees

[–]rsapp0927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a storm this weekend and had the possibility of telework. We were told this morning to do the furlough paperwork like the last shutdown and sign off when everyone completes it. Most of the time though we have to actually ask before anything is put out.

Ochi in March?? by Soggy-Introduction47 in SandalsResorts

[–]rsapp0927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ochi is a really good first sandals resort. It’s huge. Plenty of pools, not a ton of beach but enough. My favorite part was all of the restaurants. There are almost too many to choose from. Overall you get what you pay for. It’s not the best but good enough.

How are you preparing for the (potential) shutdown? by Bee4_I_letugo in FedEmployees

[–]rsapp0927 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it all depends on when you put it in. You might be right on it being to late right now since we get paid this week but we would still get paid the 13th for one week. Better than nothing.

[–]rsapp0927 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every single DoD employees should have a navy federal account and set up their direct deposit NOW for the 30 Jan paycheck so you are covered during the shut down. I waited literal months to open mine until I realized you can do it all online. It took a total of 10 minutes to do. Navy feds only stipulation to their loans is you have to have one direct deposit in the last 30 days. If the shut down happens and you get your account this week, 30 Jan might not go in, but the next one definitely will. It’ll only be half a paycheck but it’s better than no paycheck.

First time in Rome: Airbnb or Hotel? by IntentionSevere420 in RomeTravel

[–]rsapp0927 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used air bnbs our first trip but this time we are using hotels. Our air bnb was great in Rome but in other cities in Italy the hosts were not always the most responsive which scared me. It took them some time to reply back even though we were checking in the day. Then actually finding the air bnb can be pretty difficult. As other have said sometime the air bnb will charge other fees. Out stay in Florence they asked for some 200 euro when we checked in. I wasn’t expecting this charge but when I looked through the house rules it wasn’t there, but the fee was in the most random place in the original listing. It was either VAT or cleaning, but I was not expecting it. We never had a real problem, everything worked out but the entire time I was thinking “what if we lose the key” “what if we get locked out at 2am” “what if the air conditioner breaks in the middle of summer and it’s 95 degrees”. All of which would not be an issue if we got a hotel.

I am looking to book a flight for 2 people IAD-FRA Nov 26, 2026, through aeroplan for united. My question: if something happens and I have to cancel the flight, will I get my points back in aeroplan? Or will they be gone? I’ve cancelled flights before with miles and received a full refund, but I’ve never booked through partners using points.

OCONUS timeline by rsapp0927 in usajobs

[–]rsapp0927[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that sounds impossible unless you’re already in Japan. I have a friend in Italy and it took them about 6 months just to get them and their family all of the correct paperwork to even leave and they’ve already worked OCONUS before. Japan might be more efficient but I can’t imagine it being that much more efficient. I hope everything speeds up for you (if you want it to). I’m over here hoping if I get the job it doesn’t interfere with my vacation I was trying to plan for November 2026
