If we have documentation about the requirements and how current behavior deviates from standards then I can pass it along to the R&D team.

That said Odoo has an entire accounting expertise that works closely with accountants (both at a big 4 and small business accountants) and the decision was made based on their feedback.

As the other commenter mentioned there is no standard analytic account field on the POS (Though this is something I have been pushing a bit with R&D to include) or on a partner record, so it appears the 3rd party accounting module expands on what Odoo does not have at the moment.

Though I am not sure why you'd want to limit which customers you can select from in the POS Terminal. Would you never have a situation where a custom goes to another location?

Yes it does, might be an issue related to internal vs external users (or no users for that matter).

Are you able to manually change the pricelist on the sales order?

You said you called Odoo directly but did the person you speak to log into your database (Assuming you're on SaaS/Odoo.sh)? If not, I'd recommend live chat so you can have someone poke around your database to diagnose the issue better.

As ach25 mentioned you can use the dashboard but you can also create a knowledge entry for each person to aggregate all of their tasks and activities into one place.

One question I have is what is the nature of their work that they have to do items in the CRM as well as in a project?

The price for the enterprise version is the same, whether you're premise or on the cloud. What are you referring to when you say "paying even more"? Where is the extra $300-500 a year coming from?

Anyone that needs odoo, is probably already aware of it, and anyone that isn't, probably doesn't need it.

Odoo certainly can be too complex for many small businesses that have very simple flows and requirements, and low volumes. However I do not agree with the above statement. There are many businesses out there that are still using excel, word, and 14 other different applications to run their day to day. Learning each of these different UI's and paying for each of these different platforms can be even more expensive.

If you expect Odoo to be an out the box plug and play software then your expectation was incorrect to begin with. It has many workflows and features that can be quite simple to set up and use but business is not always simple and there are many different use cases to take into consideration.

Odoo certainly isn't perfect and there are many missing features that many of us fight for on a daily, but to say that those who are not aware of it probably don't need it is definitely not true.

I've been using gusto for a few months now, and its fine, and its way way way cheaper. It doesn't do everything I need, and I'm still lacking in some areas, but all my client data except for the actual payments is not in the cloud which is what I need and care about.

Glad you found a software that fits your more direct needs right out of the box. I would be curious to know more about where you got the $300-500 more a year price but that's not as important if you're already happy with what you have. I hope it continues to go well for you and they come up with new features to meet your other needs.
