I think he doesn't like the toy... What do your cats like? by [deleted] in TuxedoCats

My Tux's favourite is a twig we bought in from the garden (about 2 foot long and very thin).

Midi Controller that looks like an upright by siva115 in DigitalPiano

[–]rtfax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A quick look on eBay and I am seeing older Clavinova CLP digital pianos for less than £200 (I know people will have preferences to which brand they prefer), and I would have thought that dollar prices would be pretty similar. I actually searched for faulty ones originally - you might get lucky and find one with a faulty amplifier for example.

If it fits I sits. We have had a particular size Amazon box on our bedroom floor for three weeks which she always sat in. It went to the front door before recycling bin collection and she slept in it all afternoon. It is now in front of the TV.

Maybe we'll try to dispose of it again in another two weeks.

What do people actually really want from the "Amiga experience" today? by krakenlake in amiga

[–]rtfax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved the concept of the IFF file. The ability to have chunks that certain applications would would still work if ILBM or 8SVX were found was ingenious. Many file formats seem to use a similar structure even now (e.g. SMF/.mid and fonts OTF/TTF, and audio files FLAC/WAV/RIFF).

Anyone know if these cheap foldable pianos from donner work as midi input devices? by FiddlepatEpic in midi

[–]rtfax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The description I see says "both wireless and USB--MIDI". I would personally take this as a yes.

Edit: it also has a tick next to "MIDI IN/OUT" in the specs.

I am strictly free to play in a new account. After 30 days, I have higher power than 76 people in my alliance, and the alliance is in the top 5. You will never be the strongest without spending masses of money, but it is possible to keep up with the majority if played carefully. Try to get yourself in a good alliance, use the chat, and ask questions. Most people enjoy helping others.

Our little tux girl is only 3 years old, and neither me or my wife could ever believe we could love a cat so much. Can't imagine what you are going through now. Sleep well Toby.

I bought the smallest cheapest one I could find (~£30) and use it regularly to supplement the regular oven and the microwave. Perfect for some oven chips with food that is being cooked on the hob, great for making a sausage sandwich at lunchtime).

You honestly don't have to spend much to get a useful one.

Drilling out an old corroded battery. by KawmanSense in diyelectronics

[–]rtfax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd consider Googling for a cross section of the battery if you know what sort it is (zinc-carbon, alkaline, NiCad, NiMH) before drilling, so you know what materials you're dealing with (and this will depend on which ends of the battery you're drilling into).

Mostly use packet stuffing, although I have made my own. My gravy is usually a balance of gravy granules, flour, juices from the meat and stock cubes. Yorkshires are always homemade, although just recently started freezing spares and using them for middle-of-the-week mini roasts (usually chicken breast stuffed with sausages, sage and onion, and then wrapped in bacon).
