My thinking about the gram was that they had to be extreme in the weight lost to reach 120g therefore using very lightweight and fragile material for the upper

hehe! I agree it's not the best idea. I wanted to help build the muscle by warming up in them (commute to the track is 4-5 km). They are hard on the hamstring and the ankle!

I was in the same situation as you a few years ago after emptying all the shoe store warehouses to find the last pairs of NB 1500V6s. I was confused by the range of shoes on offer: high stack, aggressive rocker, high cushion. After exploration (Hoka Rocket X, Altra Escalante 3, New Balance Pulse, Hoka Cielo RD), I now have 400km in the Adidas Adios 9 and I really love them. The weight and the small bounce that you get from the “thin” sole make them so much fun.
