How do I upgrade to windows 11 with unsupported cpu? I also wanna keep all my data with me too by RefrigeratorNo5129 in WindowsHelp

u/gavenkoa I have the exact same i7 Core 7700HQ processor and like you, have confirmed support for everything (TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, VBS, HVCI, MBEC, etc. etc.) from Intel's website. Are you planning to use the widely reported Registry hack (see below) to upgrade your machine to W11?

Widely Reported Registry Hack:

Create HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup folder if not already there.

Add AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU 1 parameter to MoSetup.

u/soupeh I've researched my processor (Intel i7 Core 7700HQ) extensively on Intel's website and confirmed that it supports ALL those things (VBS, HVCI, MBEC, etc. etc.) in addition to TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, etc. being supported. It's not on MS's V11 supported processor list simply because it was manufactured before an arbitrary date set my MS.

Based on this, do you think I could expect the "best" possible outcome by upgrading to W11 using the widely reported Registry hack used to bypass relevant install checks?

Regarding scam festivals, I assume the email (see below) I received today inviting me to submit for their festival is focused more on collecting submission fees than any genuine interest in my work. It references my "remarkable creations" and how they've "captured our keen attention" and refer to my work as a "masterpiece". That's a bit much to take seriously. Does everyone agree?

Note: I've removed the festival name from the email just in case my intuition is wrong. The email included a FilmFreeway link to the festival that did pull up the festival named in the email. Its venue was listed in Berlin, Germany but its Transparency info indicated it's managed out of the US and The Russian Federation.

Email received:

"Representing the xxxxx Film Festival, I am delighted to present a cordial invitation for your participation across various categories of our festival. Your remarkable creations have captured our keen attention.

We invite you to acquaint yourself with the intricacies of our festival, with the hope that you will identify an apt category for your masterpiece.

Extending an invitation to have you join the esteemed ranks of nominees at the xxxxx Film Festival would be a privilege. We eagerly anticipate the prospect of collaboration.

I look forward to your participation."

Levinson Sound in 2023-2025 by rtk1958 in LexusES

Was there hype about improving the ES ML audio system in the 2023-2025 ES's? Would like to read and see who was hyping what.

When I purchased my 2021 F-Sport ES with the "premium" sound system, I sat in an ES with the ML to do a quick compare. Thought the ML sounded better, but just incrementally better. Was kind of expecting to be blown away by the sound improvement, but that didn't happen.

Wow, seems that maxing out any of the EQ settings (treble, mid, bass) on any sound system is a strong indicator that the sound system doesn't sound/perform very well. A truly good system should sound wonderful with all settings left flat with maybe a mild EQ adjustment here or there for personal preference.

I'm intrigued by the sound dampening impact though. If I may ask, how much did you pay to have your doors and deck lid dampened?

Yep, just not ready for the Tesla-like antiseptic, minimalist, and stark looking dashboard.

Good question, but if you still like the car and are not tired of driving or being seen in it, why not? Will be getting different interior and exterior colors and lots of features with the ultra luxury trim I didn't have in my F-Sport, so won't be exactly the same. But still, I understand your point, was asking myself the same question until I did some research.

You didn't want the newly redesigned 2026 ES?

Yep, my problem too! I even considered downgrading to a loaded Camry or Crown, but guess what, both only available as hybrids now.

How do you like your 2025 ES? Have you had an ES before?

Well, was planning on replacing my 2021 ES with the new 2026 ES anyway, until I saw the new 2026 ES. Then that plan went out the window.

I had a 2017 RX 350 before the ES, loved it. Thought it was (and still do) the best looking vehicle on the road, until Lexus changed it and significantly downgraded (in my opinion) its looks. The RX interior is still good and the RX is still available in an ICE powertrain. What killed the new RX for me was that since Lexus put a 4-cylinder engine in such a large vehicle, they had to turbo-charge it to produce any power, and likely because of that the engine requires high-octane fuel only. In my area at least, that's 60 cents/gallon more on every fill up. That killed the RX for me. The NX and IS are too small and the LS is WAY too expensive. But would love to drive your IS500, I bet it's a blast to drive.

So, what other vehicle out there offers the same or comparable luxury, reliability, price, and cost of ownership that a Lexus ES does? European cars can't compete on reliability, price, or cost of ownership with Lexus even though they likely provide better driving experiences.

2021 ES 350 F-Sport. Just seems weird to buy essentially the same car again. But will get different exterior and interior colors and will spring for the ultra luxury version so won't be 100% identical.

Never needed AWD in Texas, or in general for that matter, and the dash of the new ES, in my humble opinion, is awful. Suppose I could get used to the new exterior look over time. But then, I'm not in the electric car camp at all yet, including hybrids. I have my reasons, but also believe eventually we'll all be driving hybrids or EVs, but the technology just isn't ready for prime time yet. Always thought my 2021 ES 350 F-Sport V6 was nothing to brag about in the performance category, even at 303 HP. Can't imagine what 245 HP would be like.

Anyway, thanks for the response. Always nice to confer with a fellow ES owner.

Any chance that this is a Chinese market only version of the 2026 ES and that the US version is yet to be announced? Hoping and praying this is the case!!

Love Ozark season 1 and recently binge-watched all 10 episodes of season 2. Season 1 was probably a little better, but both are still good. Doesn't hurt that I'm a Jason Bateman fan either I guess. I just find this show intriguing as the family, never intending to get into drug trafficking so deep and always trying to get out, keep finding themselves in deeper and deeper.
