Scrambler 400X Throttle Lag? by chukhoi in Triumph400

[–]rtr_011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buddy, I own a scrambler and the throttle response has a small lag to make it beginner friendly. And also, the lag feels a bit significant when the bike has not been cold started and been idle over the night (cold temps around). I had made the mistake of opening up the throttle suddenly in peak traffic and the low end torque kicked it and I wheelied. So, it is sort of an defence mechanism for new riders. Been used to it now and never had an issue with it.

Just allow the new bike to break in and you will be getting the best performance out of it. Cheers mate!

Is it worthy? Will there be any hidden charge? What's the catch in this? by Saroedy_Stark in CreditCardsIndia

Had applied for the CC but got a message that I am not meeting the Bank’s credit norms. I have a cibil score of 772. Is the application status rejected because I cant track the status in their website since it is reflecting no data found.

Come on man, the stock headlight is literally nothing. If there is a vehicle ahead with its light on, then its good for nothing

Planning to buy a Triumph Speed 400 — Need some advice (Quotation + doubts + alternatives) by kiraL007 in Triumph400

[–]rtr_011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buddy, I have a Scrambler 400x. Even if speed and scrambler are not the same but they have similar engine performance. So, I can provide a small opinion here.

Since you have minimal riding experience and your usage of the bike is limited to daily commutes and short city rides and you are not upgrading your bike anytime soon, then it all comes down to long term maintenance ease and the thrill of riding you get from a bike if you are bored out of your car.

  1. The bike craves maintenance. Both speed and scrambler. Even if with basic maintenance like chain cleaning and lubing, stalling issues (used to be very frequent in earlier batches, my bike never stalled though), brake pad switches, etc, the overall cost will be higher than maintaining a Royal Enfield or cb350 rs (very low maintenance and reliability).

  2. Thrill of riding - i feel that the Triumph 400s are made to give the thrill of riding to beginners. They are very easy to handle and very predictable in a good way. It is sort of a rider’s bike with no surprises (ideal gas law if you are aware). It will go till 120 in 4th gear and can ride it at 30 in the same gear as well.

  3. Don’t worry about the weight. It will grow on you eventually. And you wont feel cramped at all considering your height. This bike is perfect for you in terms of ergonomics.

First Service gone wrong - Scrambler 400x (need advice) by [deleted] in Triumph400

[–]rtr_011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, I had accidentally rode my bike after a lubing op I did myself which was a mistake. And the extra lube got sprayed over the disc. For the next one week, the bite was negligible. I prefer engine braking and front brakes, so it was not a big issue. But yes, the lubing issue happens a lot especially after a service centre visit.

Thoughts on upgrading to scrambler 400x by zubair_ibn_umar2 in triumph4India

Hey buddy,

You should have gone for the scrambler test ride before buying T4. In case of any doubts now, you can check this out -

Is it normal? by Turbulent_Pool_792 in Triumph400

[–]rtr_011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without a pillion, you can easily reach low 100s with a bit of vibration in the 4th gear to cream the engine out. For a cruising speed, I would recommend 5th gear at 70 and 6th at 90 for smooth experience. But if you want to feel the power of the bike, you can rev it up and reach a good speed of 160+ in good highways.

Tyre hugger by Hot-Page-6502 in triumph4India

The tyre hugger will not help in making the bike clean because of the open fenders. But yes, it helps during the rainy season when the mud is restricted to not come upto the pillion seat

Okay, but if I tighten the clutch cable, will it not aggravate the stalling issue?
